Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցին այսօր նշում է Սուրբ Թեոդոս թագավորի և Եփեսոսի մանկանց հիշատակության օրը

Հայ Եկեղեցում այսօր նշվում է Սուրբ Թեոդոս թագավորի և Եփեսոսի մանկանց հիշատակության օրը։ Այս մասին տեղեկանում ենք qahana.am-ից։
Սուրբ Թեոդոս թագավորը և մեծահամբավ զորավարը, որին տրվել է նաև Մեծն Թեոդոս անունը, քրիստոնյա աշխարհին հայտնի է որպես ուղղափառության մեծագույն ջատագով ու պաշտպան: 379 թվականին նշանակվելով Արևելքի կայսր, բարեպաշտ Թեոդոսն առաջին հերթին վերադարձնում է նախորդ կայսեր հրամանով աքսորված ուղղափառ բոլոր եպիսկոպոսներին, որոնց թվում նաև, ըստ «Վարք Սրբոցի», հայոց Ներսես հայրապետին: Ուղղափառ հավատի զորացման համար կարևորվում է 381 թվականին նրա հրամանով գումարված Կ.Պոլսի տիեզերական ժողովը: Ուսանելի է բարեպաշտ քրիստոնյայի խոնարհ վարքը: Երբ Միլանի եպիսկոպոսն ի պատիժ Թեսաղոնիկեում կազմակերպած ժողովրդի կոտորածի, կայսերն արգելում է մուտք գործել եկեղեցի, վերջինս խոնարհաբար հնազանդվում է և միայն 8-ամսյա ապաշխարությունից հետո ոտք դնում Աստծո տաճար:
Հայ Եկեղեցում նույն օրը նշվում է նաև Եփեսոսի 7 մանկանց հիշատակությունը: Եփեսոսցի ազնվական 7 երիտասարդներ գաղտնի մկրտվում են՝ ընդունելով քրիստոնեական հավատը: Վերջինիս համար հալածվում են Դեկոս կայսրի կողմից և թաքնվում մոտակա լեռան (Ողքոս) այրում: Այստեղ աստվածառաք քնով ննջում են նրանք 140 տարի եւ արթնանում միայն 389 թվականին՝ Թեոդոս բարեպաշտ կայսրի օրոք: Երբ բացահայտվում է աստվածային հրաշքը, թագավորն ու համաքաղաքացիներն ամենամեծ պատիվներով դիմավորում են հալածված քրիստոնյաներին: Վերադառնալով իրենց քարայրը, 7 երիտասարդները կրկին ննջում են, այս անգամ` հավերժական քնով: Նրանց թաղում են նույն քարայրում, որի վրա հետագայում կառուցվում է փառահեղ մի եկեղեցի:
