ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի հանրապետական անդամ Մեթ Ռոզենդեյլը հայտարարել է, որ մտադիր է բանաձև ներկայացնել պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինին իմփիչմենթի ենթարկելու համար՝ անցյալ շաբաթ Սպիտակ տանն ու Կոնգրեսին իր հոսպիտալացման մասին չտեղեկացնելու պատճառով: Այս մասին հայտնում է The Hill-ը։

Ռոզենդեյլը ծրագրում է իմփիչմենթի բանաձևը Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի նիստում ներկայացնել հունվարի 9-ին։ Նա ասել է, որ Օսթինի` Վաշինգտոնի Ուոլթեր Ռիդ ազգային ռազմական բժշկական կենտրոնում հոսպիտալացվելու տեղեկությունը գաղտնի պահելու որոշումը «խախտել է իր պաշտոնավարման երդումը» և «վտանգել ամերիկացի ժողովրդի կյանքը»:

Ինչպես նշում է թերթը, ավելի վաղ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ Էլիզ Ստեֆանիկը հայտարարել էր, որ ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարության ղեկավարը պետք է անհապաղ հրաժարական տա, քանի որ առանց նախազգուշացման նրա բացակայությունը խաթարում է բազմաթիվ գլոբալ հակամարտությունների ֆոնին վստահությունը հրամանատարական շղթայի նկատմամբ:

Պենտագոնի մամուլի քարտուղար Պատրիկ Ռայդերը հայտնել է, որ Օսթինը չի պատրաստվում լքել իր պաշտոնը սկանդալից հետո։

Հիշեցնենք, որ  Պենտագոնը երեք օր շարունակ Սպիտակ տանը տեղյակ չի պահել ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինի հոսպիտալացման մասին:

«Պենտագոնը Սպիտակ տան Ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներին պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինի հոսպիտալացման մասին չի տեղեկացրել մինչև հինգշաբթի օրը՝ Ուոլթեր Ռիդի բժշկական կենտրոն ժամանելուց երեք օր անց», - ասվում է հրապարակման մեջ:

Օսթինը հիվանդանոց է տեղափոխվել հունվարի 1-ին, իսկ հանրությունը, և, ըստ հրատարակության աղբյուրների, Կոնգրեսն այս մասին տեղեկացվել են միայն ուրբաթ։

Հրատարակության համաձայն՝ Օսթինի հոսպիտալացման մասին տեղեկությունները «շոկի են առաջացրել» բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաների, այդ թվում՝ ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդական Ջեյք Սալիվանի մոտ. նրանք տեղյակ չեն եղել բժշկական միջամտությունից հետո պաշտպանության նախարարի ունեցած բարդությունների մասին։

Ըստ հոդվածի՝ Կոնգրեսը տեղեկացվել է Օսթինի հիվանդության մասին Պենտագոնի հրապարակային մամուլի հաղորդագրության տարածումից ընդամենը 15 րոպե առաջ։

NBC հեռուստաալիքը, վկայակոչելով կառավարական շրջանակներում իր աղբյուրները, պնդում է, որ 70-ամյա նախարարը մի քանի օր անցկացրել է վերակենդանացման բաժանմունքում՝ գործերը հանձնելով իր տեղակալ Քեթլին Հիքսին։ Նա ամբողջությամբ աշխատանքի է վերադարձել ուրբաթ երեկոյան:
