Ս. Դավիթ մարգարեն Բոազի և Հռութի ծոռն էր: Նա Աստվածաշունչ մատյանի Սաղմոսաց գրքի հեղինակն է, նաև շնորհալի, քաջ, իմաստուն, ճարտասան, գեղեցիկ տեսքով մի մարդ: Եղել է հովիվ: Փղշտացիների հարձակման ժամանակ հաղթել է հսկա Գողիաթին: Այս մասին տեղեկանում ենք Qahana.am-ից։

Սավուղի մահից հետո Իսրայելի թագավորն է եղել և հիմնադրել է Երուսաղեմ քաղաքը: Հին Կտակարանի ամենամեծ և ազդու դեմքերից է: Աշխարհի Փրկիչ Հիսուս Քրիստոս նրա սերնդից է, որով էլ արժևորվում է: Ս. Հակոբոս Տյառնեղբայրն ավետարանական սրբերի և «Գործք Առաքելոց»-ի սրբերի միջև կապող օղակն է: Նա Նախնական Եկեղեցու տիրական դեմքերից է և Երուսաղեմի առաջին եպիսկոպոսը:

Հովսեփիոս հրեա պատմիչը նրան «արդար» է անվանել: Վարքագրական աղբյուրների համաձայն՝ ոմանք նրան պատվիրում են բարձրանալ աշտարակի վրա և Հիսուսի դեմ չարախոսել: Սակայն նա խոսում է Հիսուս Մեսիայի մասին, Ով նստած է Աստծո Աջում և գալու է դատելու աշխարհն արդարությամբ: Շատերն հավատի են գալիս, բայց չարակամները սրբին աշտարակից վայր են նետում:

Ըստ ավանդության՝ թաղված է Երուսաղեմի Հայոց Պատրիարքության Ս. Հակոբյանց Մայր Տաճարում: Նրա անունով մեզ է հասել ընդհանրական մի թուղթ:Հայ Եկեղեցին Դավիթ մարգարեի հիշատակը տոնում է Հակոբոս Տյառնեղբոր հետ, որովհետև եթե Դավիթը Քրիստոսի «նախահայրն» է ըստ մարմնի, ապա Հակոբոսը՝ նրա «եղբայրը» և ազգականը: Այս երկու սրբերի անուները միասին են տոնում` խորհրդանշելու Հին և Նոր Ուխտերի միաձուլումը քրիստոնեության մեջ:
