ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը մերժել է Գազայի հատվածում մեկշաբաթյա հրադադար հաստատելու Իսրայելի առաջարկը՝ 40 պատանդի, այդ թվում՝ բոլոր կանանց և երեխաների ազատ արձակման դիմաց, գրում է Wall Street Journal-ը:
Վկայակոչելով եգիպտոսցի պաշտոնյաներին՝ Wall Street Journal-ը հաղորդում է, որ մերժված առաջարկի համաձայն՝ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը պետք է ազատ արձակեր նաև տարեց պատանդներին, որոնք շտապ բժշկական օգնության կարիք ունեն: Դրա դիմաց Իսրայելը մեկ շաբաթով կդադարեցներ օդային և ցամաքային գործողությունները Գազայում և թույլ կտար ավելացնել մարդասիրական օգնության ներհոսքը դեպի անկլավ:
Սակայն ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը և Պաղեստինյան Իսլամական ջիհադն ասել են եգիպտոսցի միջնորդներին, որը Իսրայելը պետք է դադարեցնի իր հարձակումը Գազայում, նախքան նրանք կքննարկեն որևէ հնարավոր գործարք:
Բացի այդ, «Իսլամական ջիհադը» Իսրայելից պահանջել է ազատ արձակել բոլոր պաղեստինցի բանտարկյալներին, որպեսզի իրենք իրենց հերթին ազատ արձակեն մնացած բոլոր պատանդներին, որոնց թիվը գնահատվում է մոտ 100: Սակայն Իսրայելը հայտարարել է, որ չի դադարեցնի իր ռազմական արշավը, և որ այս պայմանը բանակցությունների սկիզբ չէ:
