ԱՄՆ նախագահները չեն կարողանա որոշումներ կայացնել ՆԱՏՕ-ից երկրի դուրս գալու վերաբերյալ։ Այս մասին հայտնում է The Hill-ը։
ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսը վերահաստատել է իր աջակցությունը ՆԱՏՕ-ին։ Դաշինքը նախկինում եղել է նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի քննադատության առարկան: Այնուամենայնիվ, նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի օրոք ՆԱՏՕ-ի նշանակությունը մեծացել է հատկապես 2022 թվականի փետրվարին՝ Ուկրաինա Ռուսաստանի ներխուժումից հետո։
«ՆԱՏՕ-ն հաստատակամ է պատասխանում Ռուսաստանի բռնապետ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի պատերազմին Ուկրաինայում և աճող մարտահրավերներին ամբողջ աշխարհում: Օրենքը վերահաստատում է ԱՄՆ աջակցությունը այս կարևոր դաշինքին, որը հիմնարար է մեր ազգային անվտանգության համար: Այն նաև ուժեղ ազդանշան է ուղարկում ավտորիտար երկրներին, որ ազատ աշխարհը մնում է միասնական»,- ասել է սենատոր Թիմ Քեյնը։
Բայդենն ուժեղացրել է ՆԱՏՕ-ն իր նախագահության ընթացքում՝ ավելի շատ զորքեր ուղարկելով Եվրոպա՝ որպես ուժի ցուցադրություն Պուտինի վարած պատերազմի դեմ և ընդլայնելով դաշինքը՝ ներառելով Ֆինլանդիան և Շվեդիան:
Նախագահի հանրապետական թեկնածու Թրամփը ՆԱՏՕ-ի մասին տարբեր կերպ է արտահայտվել։ Նրա պաշտպանները կարծում են, որ նախկին նախագահի քննադատությունը ոգեշնչել է դաշինքի անդամ երկրներին մեծացնել պաշտպանական ծախսերը՝ թեթևացնելով Միացյալ Նահանգների բեռը։ Սակայն Թրամփի քննադատներն ասում են, որ նրա խոսքերը թուլացնում են ՆԱՏՕ-ն։ Նրանք մտավախություն ունեն, որ նա կհրաժարվի ԱՄՆ-ի պարտավորություններից՝ դաշինքի փոխադարձ պաշտպանության համաձայնագրով, կամ կարող է ընդհանրապես դուրս գալ դաշինքից։
