ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենը Հնդկաստանի մայրաքաղաք Նյու Դելիում լրագրողների հետ շփման ժամանակ դատապարտել է Գազայի հատվածում Իսրայելի հարվածներից զոհերի մեծ թիվը և նշել, որ պաղեստինցիներին պաշտպանելու համար պետք է արվի ավելին։
«Չափից մեծ թվով պաղեստինցիներ են զոհվել։ Չափից շատ մարդիկ են տառապել վերջին շաբաթների ընթացքում։ Մենք ցանկանում ենք անել հնարավոր ամեն բան, որպեսզի կանխենք նրանց հասցված վնասը և առավելագույնի հասցնենք նրանց մատակարարվող օգնությունը», - ասել է ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարը՝ շեշտելով, որ կարելի է և հարկավոր է անել ավելին՝ «նվազեցնելու պաղեստինցի քաղաքացիական անձանց պատճառվող վնասը»։
Բլինքենը ողջունել է Իսրայելի հայտարարությունը ամեն օր հումանիտար դադարների և 2 հումանիտար միջանցք բացելու մասին։
ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարը շեշտել է, որ Վաշինգտոնը կշարունակի կենտրոնանալ պատանդներին տուն վերադարձնելու և հակամարտության տարածումը թույլ չտալու վրա։
Հոկտեմբերի 7-ին պաղեստինյան ՀԱՄԱՍ շարժման անակնկալ հարձակման հետևանքով Իսրայելում 1400 մարդ է զոհվել, ավելի քան 240 մարդ գերեվարվել է։ Հարձակմանը հաջորդել են Իսրայելի կողմից Գազայի հատվածի գնդակոծությունները, որոնց հետևանքով ավելի քան 10 500 մարդ է զոհվել։
