Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենյամին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարել է, որ իր երկիրը կարող է դիմել մարտերում «փոքրիկ մարտավարական դադարների», որպեսզի թույլ տա Գազայի հատված հումանիտար օգնության մատակարարում կամ այնտեղից գերիների դուրսբերում։ Այնուամենայնիվ, նա մերժել է հրադադարի կոչերը՝ չնայած միջազգային ճնշմանը։ Այս մասին Նեթանյահուն հայտնել է ABC News պարբերականին տված հարցազրույցում։
«Գազայում համընդհանուր հրադադար տեղի չի ունենա՝ առանց մեր գերիների ազատ արձակման։ Ինչ վերաբերում է փոքր մարտավարական դադարներին՝ մեկ ժամ այստեղ, մեկ ժամ այնտեղ, ապա մենք նախկինում էլ նման բան արել ենք։ Կարծում եմ՝ հաշվի կառնենք հանգամանքները, որպեսզի թույլ տանք, որ ապրանքները, հումանիտար ապրանքները ներս մտնեն կամ մեր գերիները, առանձին գերիներ, դուրս բերվեն։ Բայց չեմ կարծում, թե համընդհանուր հրադադար կլինի», - հայտնել է Նեթանյահուն։
Իսրայելի վարչապետը հավելել է, որ հրադադարը կխոչընդոտեր պատերազմ վարելու իր երկրի ջանքերին, ինչպես նաև գերիներին ազատ արձակելու գործընթացին, քանի որ պաղեստսինյան ՀԱՄԱՍ արմատական շարժման վրա, Նեթանյահուի համոզմամբ, միայն ազդում է «մեր գործադրած ռազմական ճնշումը»։
ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը նոյեմբերի 6-ին Բենյամին Նեթանյահուի հետ հեռախոսազրույցում վերահաստատել է իր աջակցությունն Իսրայելին և շեշտել խաղաղ բնակիչներին պաշտպանելու անհրաժեշտությունը։
Գազա քաղաքը շրջափակման մեջ վերցնելուց հետո Իսրայելը հայտարարել է ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի ռազմական օբյեկտներից մեկը գրավելու և ստորգետնյա թունելներում թաքնվող զինյալների վրա հարձակում սկսելու մասին։
Հոկտեմբերի 7-ին Իսրայելի վրա ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի անակնկալ հարձակումից հետո, երբ Իսրայելում սպանվեց 1400 մարդ, իսկ 240 մարդ գերեվարվեց, Իսրայելը շարունակում է հարվածներ հասցնել Գազայի հատվածին։ Այդ հարվածների հետևանքով պաղեստինցիների շրջանում զոհերի թիվը գերազանցել է 10 000-ը, նրանց թվում կա 4100 երեխա։
Թե՛ Իսրայելը, թե՛ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը անտեսել են ռազմական գործողությունները դադարեցնելու կոչերը։ Իսրայելը պնդում է, որ նախ ազատ արձակվեն գերիները, իսկ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը հայտարարում է, որ նրանք ազատ չեն արձակվի, քանի դեռ Գազան հարվածների է ենթարկվում։
