Արտգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը հունվարի 14-ին ընդունել է ԱՄՆ ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդի Եվրոպական հարցերով ավագ տնօրեն և ԱՄՆ նախագահի գլխավոր օգնական Չարլզ Կապչանին: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության եւ հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից , ողջունելով հյուրին՝ նախարար Նալբանդյանը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը մեծ կարևորություն է տալիս իր հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ, և բարձր է գնահատել առկա հայ-ամերիկյան բարեկամական գործընկերությունը և դրա առավել զարգացման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվող համատեղ քայլերը։

Շորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ Կապչանը իր հերթին նշել է. «Ուրախ եմ այս հնարավորության համար` քննարկելու մեր երկրների միջև արդեն իսկ գոյություն ունեցող ամուր ու բազմակողմանի կապերի առավել ամրապնդման ուղիները, ինչը թույլ կտա հասնել մեր ընդհանուր նպատակին, այն է` ազատ, բարեկեցիկ և անվտանգ Հայաստան, որը խաղաղ գոյակցում է հարևանների հետ»:

Զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են հայ-ամերիկյան օրակարգի բազմաթիվ հարցերի, մտքեր են փոխանակվել հրատապ միջազգային խնդիրների շուրջ:

Գոհունակությամբ նշվել է, որ 2015թ-ը բավականին դինամիկ տարի էր՝ երկկողմ հարաբերությունների զարգացման տեսանկյունից. ուժի մեջ է մտել Հայաստանի և ԱՄՆ-ի միջև արտոնագրային ռեժիմի դյուրացման մասին համաձայնությունը, անցյալ տարվա մայիսին ստորագրվել է ՀՀ և ԱՄՆ միջև առևտրի և ներդրումների շրջանակային համաձայնագիրը, որի հիման վրա ստեղծված առևտրի և ներդրումների խորհրդի անդրանիկ նիստը կայացել է անցյալ նոյեմբերին Երևանում։ Գումարվել է նաև տնտեսական համագործակցության հայ-ամերիկյան միջկառավարական հանձնաժողովի նիստը։

Հանդիպմանը քննարկվել են միջազգային և տարածաշրջանային խնդիրների, ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարի, հակամարտությունների կարգավորման ուղիների, խաղաղապահ գործողություններին Հայաստանի մասնակցությանն առնչվող մի շարք հարցեր:

Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ու Չարլզ Կապչանն անդրադարձել են ղարաբաղյան հիմնահարցի կարգավորման շուրջ ընթացող բանակցային գործընթացին: Նախարար Նալբանդյանն ընդգծել է, որ Հայաստանը շարունակելու է Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության հետ համատեղ ջանքերը՝ ուղղված ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ հանգուցալուծմանը:
