27-ամյա Կեդրա Տրենտը՝ Տեխաս նահանգից, վերջերս համացանցում հրապարակել է իր եղբոր և նրա չորքոտանի ընկերոջ հիանալի լուսանկարը: Թվում է, թե սովորական լուսանկար է: Բայց դրա մեջ մի մանրուք կա, որից մարդու սիրտ է ճզմվում…
Բանը նրանում է, որ 32-ամյա Ջորդան Տրենտը կորցրել է իր տեսողությունն այգում աշխատելիս: Նա չորս վիրահատություն է տարել, բայց բժիշկներին այդպես էլ չի հաջողվել վերականգնել նրա տեսողությունն ամբողջությամբ:
Մի օր Ջորդանը զբոսնում էր իր երեխաների հետ, երբ հանկարծ նրանք մի փոքրիկ շնիկ գտան: Ջորդանն ուղղակի չկարողացավ անտարբեր անցնել նրա կողքով…
Երեխաները բացականչեցին. «Հայրիկ, հայրի՛կ, նա նույնպես քեզ պես միաչքանի է: Արի նրան մեր տուն տանենք, խնդրում ենք»:

Չնայած այն բանին, որ Շայների մի աչքը չկա, նա շատ է սիրում խաղալ և զարգանալ երեխաների հետ, նա նաև շատ ծիծաղելի է հաչում:
Աշխարհում կան հազարավոր անտուն կենդանիներ և հազարավոր մարդիկ, ովքեր կարող են փոխել այդ կենդանիների կյանքը: Բայց Ջորդանը պետք է հանդիպեր հենց այս շնիկին: Նա անտարբեր չանցավ շնիկի կողքով, և այժմ նա շատ լավ ընկեր ունի:
