Երեկ Հայաստանից և Ադրբեջանից միանգամից երկու նույնաբովանդակ հայտարարություններ հնչեցին, թե խաղաղության պայմանագրի շուրջ երեք հիմնական սկզբունքները համաձայնեցված են։ Խորհրդարանում նախ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը բյուջեի ներկայացման ժամանակ հայտարարեց, թե Ադրբեջանի հետ խաղաղության պայմանագրի շուրջ երեք հիմնական սկզբունքները համաձայնեցված են, եթե կողմերը հավատարիմ մնան այդ սկզբունքներին, ապա խաղաղության և հարաբերությունների կարգավորման պայմանագրի ստորագրումը կդառնա իրատեսական։

Առաջին սկզբունքը ըստ Փաշինայնի, որ Հայաստանն ու Ադրբեջանը ճանաչում են միմյանց տարածքային աբողջականությունը, այն ըմբռնմամբ, որ Հայստանի տարածքը 29800 քառ. կմ է, Ադրբեջանինը՝ 86600 քառ. կմ։ Ավելին, այս թվերը Փաշինյանն իր համար դուրս է գրել Խորհրդային միության վերջին հանրագիտարաններից։ Լավ է, որ փաշինյանենց տանը կա կոշտ կազմով, կանաչ գույնի 13 հատորյակը, այլապես կարող էր Հայաստանի տարածքային ամբողջականությունը հաշվարկել իր՝ «Երկրի հակառակ կողմը» վեպով։

Ավելին, իր մտահանգումները հանրության վզին փաթաթելու համար Փաշինյանը հռչակել է նոր կարգախոս. «Հայրենիքը պետությունն է, սիրում ես հայրենիքդ, ուժեղացրու պետությունդ»։ Ասվածի մեջ կարող է զգալի տրամաբանություն լինել, սակայն, հաշվի առնելով Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի քայլերի տրամաբանությունը, երբ փորձում է հայոց հայրենիքը տեղավորել ընդամենը 29800 քառ. կմ տարածքի մեջ, հասկանում ես, որ այս ամենում Փաշինյանը չափազանց վտանգավոր նարատիվներ է դրել, որոնք լրջորեն վտանգելու են Հայաստանը։

Փաշինյանի այս հայտարարությունից հետո, Ադրբեջանի փոխարտգործնախարար Էլնուր Մահմեդովը հաստատեց, որ «Հայաստանն ի վերջո ուղարկել է իր տեսլականը խաղաղության պայմանագրի վերաբերյալ, խաղաղության պայմանագրի կետերի մեծ մասը համաձայնեցվել է կողմերի կողմից»,- ասել է Մահմեդովը, չի նշել, սակայն, թե որ կետերը համաձայնեցված չեն։
