Նրա խոսքով՝ «իրենց առջև կանգնած են նրանց ժամանակակից տարբերակները, ովքեր «հրահրել էին հայերին Արևելյան և Հարավարևելյան Անատոլիայում» և հույներին՝ Էգեյան, Մարմարա և Սև ծովերում»։
«Մենք կանգնած ենք նրանց չմարված հաշիվների հետ, ովքեր վերջին երկու դարերի ընթացքում մեզ բաժանել են քաղաքական, աշխարհագրական, սոցիալ-տնտեսական մասերի»,- ասել է Էրդողանը։
