Նշվում է, որ Եվրոպայում վրացական հիդրոէլեկտրակայաններն ընկալվում են որպես էժան էլեկտրաէներգիայի աղբյուր։ Նույնիսկ Սև ծովի հատակով էլեկտրական մալուխի անցկացման նախագիծ կա, որը Կովկասի ափերից հասնում է Ռումինիա և հաջորդը կհասնի Հունգարիա։
Համապատասխանաբար, հետևելով նման աճող պահանջարկին՝ Թբիլիսին նախատեսում է զարգացնել իր էներգետիկ ներուժը։ Եվ Թբիլիսին ծրագրում է առաջիկա երեք տարիների ընթացքում ներգրավել մի քանի միլիարդ դոլարի ներդրումներ և կառուցել մոտ 1500 ՄՎտ ընդհանուր հզորությամբ էլեկտրակայաններ։
Եվրոպացիներին հատկապես տպավորում է այն փաստը, որ վրացական էլեկտրակայանները վառելիք չեն օգտագործում և օդային արտանետումներ չեն ունենում։
