Ակնհայտ է, որ Բրուսելյան հանդիպումը տեղի չի ունեցել, որովհետև Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Ալիևը չի ցանկացել մեկնել հանդիպման:

Այս մասին ԱԺ խորհրդարանական ճեպազրույցների ժամանակ ասել է «Հայաստան» խմբակցության ղեկավար Սեյրան Օհանյանը:

«Այն ինչ անհրաժեշտ էր ստանալու այս բանակցային գործընթացում և հատկապես Արևմուտքից, Ալիևը ստացել է, ինքը իրականացրել է բռնագաղթություն, էթնիկ զտումներ Արցախի հատվածում և այս փուլում ինքն իր նպատակին հասել և հետագա գործընթացներում կարծում եմ, որ ինքը շեշտը դնելու է Հայաստանի Հանարապետության հետ խաղաղության պայմանագրի կնքմանը, որի հիմնական նպատակներից մեկը Հայաստանի նկատմամբ ճնշումների շարունակականությունն է՝ այսպես կոչված «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» ենթակառույցների ապաշրջափակման շրջանակներում»,- ասել է նա:

Նրա խոսքով տարբեր հարթակներում, տարբեր միջոցառումների ժամանակ, լինի դա եռակողմ հայտարարությունները, լինի Պռագայի հայտարարությունները այնուհետև Գրանադայի գործողությունները ցույց են տալիս, որ Արցախյան հակամարտության հարցը և Հայաստանի Հանրապետության խաղաղության ապագան երկու տարբեր ճանապարհային քարտեզների արանքում է հայտնվել և այս դիվանագիտական ծուղակը աշխարհաքաղաքական զարգացումների շրջանակներում Հայաստանը ուժային կենտրոնների բախաման ռազմադաշտ դարձնելն է, որից դուրս գալը չափազանց դժվար է լինելու:
