«Ավելի քան 100.000 բնիկ հայեր Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում ավելի քան ինն ամիս դիմացել են Ադրբեջանի միջնադարյան սովի պաշարմանը: Սեպտեմբերի 19-ին հացի համար երկար հերթեր կանգնած սովահար հայերը ռումբի պայթյունների ձայներ լսեցին։ Ադրբեջանը 24 ժամ անընդմեջ գնդակոծում էր Լեռնային Ղարաբաղն իսրայելական և թուրքական արտադրության զենքերով, մինչև հայ բնակչությունը կապիտուլյացիա արեց՝ ջարդերը դադարեցնելու համար։ Մի քանի օրերի ընթացքում յուրաքանչյուր ողջ մնացած ընտանիք լքեց իր տունն ու կյանքը, և նախնիների մշակույթը, որը թվագրվում է երկուսուկես հազարամյակից առաջ, փախչելու հենց այն միջանցքով, որը փակել էր Ադրբեջանը՝ վերջնական միակողմանի ելքի համար:
Այժմ, երբ ամբողջ աշխարհը նայում է Գազային, փորձագետները կարծում են, որ ինքնիշխան Հայաստանն է թուրք-ադրբեջանական հաջորդ թիրախը, և ԱՄՆ-ն տեղյակ է այդ իրադարձությունների մասին»,- ընդգծում է Մաղաքյանը։
