«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Ինչպես հայտնի է, նախօրեին դատարանը ևս երկու ամսով երկարաձգեց Լևոն Քոչարյանի կալանքի ժամկետը: Սակայն, մեր տեղեկություններով, իշխանությունների համար ցանկալի նման որոշման հասնելն այնքան էլ դյուրին չի եղել: Բանն այն է, որ այս գործից հրաժարվել են բազմաթիվ քննիչներ ու դատախազներ՝ վստահ, որ այն ամբողջությամբ «ջուր» է, իսկ խափանման միջոցը կալանքն ընտրելը բացարձակապես հիմնավորված չէ: Այդուամենայնիվ, իշխանություններին հաջողվել է գտնել մի քանիսին, որոնք համաձայնել են հասնել իշխանահաճո ընթացքի:

Սարգսյանի «Հանրապետություն» կուսակցության անդամ: Նա նիստի ժամանակ «համբերատար» լսել է բոլոր հիմնավորումները, որ Լևոն Քոչարյանը չէր կարող հարվածած լինել, այդ ամենն ընդունել է, ի հակառակ դատախազի ու քննիչի, որոնք որևէ հիմնավորում չեն ունեցել, բայց վերջում որոշել է կալանքը երկարաձգել:

Մի խոսքով, ստացվում է, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նույնիսկ այս ոլորտում է հաջողում փոքրամասնության միջոցով իր քաղաքական նպատակներին հասնել: Ընդ որում, խոսքը վերաբերում է նաև ոստիկանությանը, որտեղ ևս մեծ մասը հակված չէ դառնալ մեկ անձի քաղաքական շահերի կամակատար, ուստի Փաշինյանը հույսը դրել է փոքրաթիվ բերետավորների վրա, այդ թվում՝ պարգևավճարների միջոցով:
