Երեկ՝ հոկտեմբերի 11-ին, սպանություն է տեղի ունեցել Կոտայքի մարզում, որը բացահայտվել է ոչ թե ոստիկանների ու պարեկների, այլ Հայաստանի Քննչական կոմիտեի Կոտայքի մարզային քննչական վարչության քննիչների պրոֆեսիոնալ, ճիշտ ու գրագետ քննչական գործողությունների շնորհիվ: Ժամը 11:40-ի սահմաններում «Հրազդան» բժշկական կենտրոնից ՀՀ Ներքին գործերի նախարարության Ոստիկանության օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոն ահազանգ է ստացվել, որ շտապօգնության բժիշկների հերթապահ խումբը կանչով մեկնել է Հրազդան քաղաքի Վանատուր թաղամասի տներից մեկը, որտեղ հայտնաբերել են տղամարդու դի:

Ինչպես հայտնում  է ֆոտոլրագրող Գագիկ Շամշյանը, նշված հասցե են ժամանել ՀՀ Ներքին գործերի նախարարության Ոստիկանության Կոտայքի մարզային վարչության և ոստիկանության Հրազդանի բաժնի հերթապահ խմբերը, օրվա պատասխանատու հերթապահների գլխավորությամբ:

Տեղում դատաբժիշկը ոստիկաններին ու քննիչներին հայտնել է, որ մահացածը, ում ինքնությունը պարզել է «Հրազդան» բժշկական կենտրոնի բուժանձնակազմը, 64-ամյա Աշոտ Հ.-ն: Դատաբժշկի նախնական եզրակացության համաձայն դիակի արտաքին զննությամբ գլխի, դեմքի և ձեռքերի շրջանում հայտնաբերվել են մարմնական վնասվածքներ ու մինչ Կոտայքի մարզի ոստիկանները, պարեկները քննարկում էին, թե վնասվածքները ստացել է վայր ընկնելու հետևանքով, Կոտայքի մարզային քննչական վարչության քննիչները պարզել են, որ տեղի ունեցածը սպանություն է: 

Գ. Շամշյանի տեղեկություններով քննչական հմուտ գործողությունների արդյունքում պարզվել են սպանության որոշ հանգամանքներ: 

Ըստ տեղեկությունների՝ 1 օր առաջ երեկոյան, նշված տանը Աշոտ Հ.-ն, նույն թաղամասի բնակիչներ 41-ամյա Վանուշ Գ.-ն, 55-ամյա Արմեն Հ.-ն և 39-ամյա Խաժակ Պ.-ն միասին ընթրել են, օգտագործելով չափից ավելի մեծ քանակի ոգելից խմիչք՝ այդ թվում տնական օղի, ինչից հետո Խաժակ Պ.-ի և Աշոտ Հ.-ի միչև վիճաբանություն է  սկսվել, որի ժամանակ էլ Խաժակ Պ.-ն ձեռքերով և ոտքերով հարվածներ է հասցրել Աշոտ Հ.-ի դեմքին ու մարմնի տարբեր մասերին, իսկ հետո բութ առարկայով հարվածել ծեծված Աշոտ Հ.-ի գլխին, ով ստացած մարմնական վնասվածքներից ժամեր անց, գիտակցության չգալով մահացել է: 

Ֆոտոլրագրողի տեղեկություններով կասկածյալը դեպքի վայրից փախուստի չի դիմել և երբ ոստիկաններն ու պարեկները նրան տեսել են, նա հայտնել է, որ ինքը ինքնակամ գալիս էր Հրազդանի բաժին, սակայն Հրազդանի ոստիկաններն ու պարեկները նրան տեղափոխել են ոստիկանության Հրազդանի բաժին, որտեղից էլ ներկայացրել են Կոտայքի մարզային քննչական վարչություն պարծենալով՝ թե իրենք օպերատիվ հետախուզական և այլն գործողությունների արդյունքում նրան հայտնաբերել են: 

Արդեն քննչական վարչությունում փաստերի ճնշման տակ նա խոստովանել է կատարվածը և քննիչի որոշմամբ ձերբակալվել է: 

Դեպքի փաստով Կոտայքի մարզային քննչական վարչությունում ՀՀ Քր Օր.-ի 155 հոդվածի 1-ին մասի հատկանիշներով նախաձեռնվել է  քրեական վարույթ:
