Արցախի Մարտակերտի շրջանի Գետավան գյուղն ադրբեջանական վերահսկողության տակ է անցել 2023թ․-ի սեպտեմբերի 19-ին՝ Արցախի վրա հարձակման առաջին օրը։ Այդ օրվանից գյուղի 71-ամյա բնակիչ Մադաթ Բաբայանը համարվում էր անհետ կորած։ Հարազատի ճակատագրի մասին տեղեկություն չունեցող ընտանիքը հոկտեմբերի 9-ին զանգ է ստացել Բաքվից, գրում է «Հետք»-ը։

«Ընտանիքով Արտաշատում էինք, առավոտյան 10։30-ին հեռախոսիս երկար համարով զանգ եկավ, մտածեցի՝ Ռուսաստանից բարեկամներն են։ Վերցրեցի, սկզբում ադրբեջաներեն խոսեցին, հետո ռուսերեն հարցրին՝ Մադաթ Բաբայանի ի՞նչն եմ, ասեցի, որ թոռն եմ։ Փոխանցեցին պապուս, ասեց, որ ողջ է, Բաքվում է։ Հարցրեցի՝ վիրավո՞ր ես, հարցերիս չպատասխանեց, ասեց՝ հեռախոսը լսում են, ասեցի՝ քեզ հետ կբերենք, ու կապը ընդհատվեց»,- պատմում է Մադաթի թոռը՝ 20-ամյա Ալեն Բաբայանը։

Մադաթ Բաբայանը երեք զավակների, 13 թոռների հետ ապրում էր Գետավան գյուղում։ Նրա կրտսեր՝ չորրորդ որդին վաղուց Հայաստանում է ապրում։ 2023թ․-ի սեպտեմբերի 19-ի առավոտյան Մադաթը սովորականի պես գյուղի իր գործերով էր զբաղված․ 100-ից ավելի ոչխար ուներ, մեծ հողատարածք։

Կեսօրից սկսվել էր ադրբեջանական հարձակումը Արցախի վրա։ Գետավանի հարեւան գյուղը՝ Չարեքթարը, 2020թ․-ի 44-օրյա պատերազմից հետո դարձել էր ադրբեջանական դիրքերին անմիջական սահմանակից։ Սեպտեմբերի 13-ին՝ ժամը 15։00-ի սահմաններում, ադրբեջանցիներն իրենց վերահսկողության տակ վերցրին Չարեքթար գյուղը, երեկոյան՝ 20։00-ից հետո, երբ բնակիչները դուրս էին եկել գյուղից, վերցրին նաև Գետավանը։
