Հոկտեմբերի 3-ին Մեծ Բրիտանիայի և Հյուսիսային Իռլանդիայի Միացյալ Թագավորության (ՄԹ) դեսպան Ջոն Գալագերն այցելել է Գորիս՝ տեղում ծանոթանալու Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից տեղահանված խոցելի բնակչությանն առնչվող իրավիճակին։ Նա հանդիպումներ է ունեցել ներկայումս Գորիսում գտնվող տեղահանված անձանց հետ՝ անմիջապես նրանցից տեղեկանալու իրենց կարիքների մասին, ինչպես նաև միջազգային կազմակերպությունների՝ ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի, Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեի (ԿԽՄԿ) և «Մարդը կարիքի մեջ» կազմակերպության ներկայացուցիչների հետ՝ տեղեկանալու տուժած անձանց ցուցաբերված աջակցության մասին։

Այս մասին հայտնում են ՀՀ-ում Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դեսպանատնից:

Սեպտեմբերի 29-ին ՄԹ-ն հայտարարել էր ԿԽՄԿ-ին 1 միլիոն ֆունտ ստերլինգի չափով ֆինանսավորում տրամադրելու մասին։ Այն ուղղվելու է կենսական անհրաժեշտության դեղամիջոցների, առողջապահական ծառայությունների և այլ անհրաժեշտ աջակցության տրամադրմանը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից տեղահանված անձանց, ովքեր լուրջ հումանիտար խնդիրների են առերեսվել։

Բացի այդ, «Start Fund»-ը (որի հիմնական դրամաշնորհատուներից է Միացյալ Թագավորությունը), տրամադրել Է 350,000 ֆունտ ստերլինգ` Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից Հայաստան տեղափոխվածներին աջակցելու նպատակով։

Հայաստանում ՄԹ դեսպան Ջոն Գալագերն ասել է․

«Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հետ կապված իրավիճակը ահռելի  ծանրաբեռնվածություն է առաջացրել համայնքներում։ ՄԹ-ից ստացված ֆինանսական աջակցության միջոցով կենսական օժանդակություն կցուցաբերվի առավել խոցելի անձանց:

Միացյալ Թագավորությունը կշարունակի աջակցել Հայաստանի դիմակայունությանը, անվտանգությանն ու բոլորի համար տնտեսական հնարավորությունների զարգացմանը»։
