Այսօր Վարագա Սուրբ Խաչի տոնն է, տեղեկանում ենք qahana.am-ից:

Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին ունի խաչին նվիրված չորս տոն՝ Խաչի երևում, Խաչվերաց, Վարագա Խաչ և Խաչի գյուտ:

Այս չորս տոներից երեքը նշում են նաև քրիստոնեական մյուս եկեղեցիները, իսկ Վարագա Սուրբ Խաչի տոնը հատուկ է միայն Հայ Եկեղեցուն, որը հաստատվել է 653թ., երբ Թոդիկ և Հովել ճգնավորները գտան Քրիսոտոսի Խաչափայտի մասունքը: Վարագա Սուրբ Խաչը տոնի նշվում է Խաչվերացից 14 օր հետո, այսինքն՝ սեպտեմբերի 25-ից հոկտեմբերի 1-ը հանդիպող կիրակի օրը, այս տարի՝ հոկտեմբերի 1-ին:

Եկեղեցական ավանդության համաձայն՝ Դիողետիանոս (243-313թթ.) կայսեր հալածանքներից խուսափելով՝ Ս. Հռիփսիմյանց կույսերը փախչում են Հայաստան: Կույսերից Ս. Հռիփսիմեն իր պարանոցին կրում էր Քրիստոսի Խաչափայտից մի մասունք:

Կլավդիոս կայսեր կինը՝ Պատրոնիկե թագուհին, այն ստացել էր Երուսաղեմի առաջին եպիսկոպոս Հակոբ Տյառնեղբորից, երբ Ս. Պետրոս առաքյալի քարոզությամբ ուխտի էր գնացել Հռոմ: Եվ քանի որ Հռիփսիմեն սերում էր Կլավդիոս կայսեր տոհմից, Խաչափայտի մասունքը ժառանգաբար փոխանցվել էր նրան:

Ս. Հռիփսիմեն Խաչափայտի մասունքը պահում է Վարագա լեռան քարայրներից մեկում՝ վախենալով, որ այն կընկնի հեթանոսների ձեռքը:
653թ. Վարագա լեռն իրենց ճգնության վայր են ընտրում Թոդիկ ճգնավորն ու իր աշակերտ Հովելը: Սուրբ Նշանը գտնելու փափագով նրանք խիստ ճգնությամբ, տասներկու օր ծոմ պահելով, արտասվելով և ջերմեռանդ աղոթքներով, Տիրոջից խնդրում են, որ իրենց արժանացնի տեսնելու և համբուրելու փափագելի Նշանը:

Մարդասեր Աստված, Ով միշտ կատարում է Իրենից երկյուղածների կամքը, տեսիլքով նրանց հայտնում է մասունքի տեղը: Այն ճգնավորներին երևում է խաչանիշ պայծառ լույսի տեսքով, լուսեղեն տասներկու սյուների մեջտեղում, որոնցից բաժանվելով՝ բարձրանում է սուրբ Սեղանին, որի առաջ աղոթում էին ճգնավորները: Միաժամանակ խաչանիշ լույսից ձայն է լսվում. «Քրիստոս հաճեց բնակվել սուրբ Նշանի մեջ՝ Հայոց աշխարհի պահպանության և փրկության համար»:

Լուսեղեն սյուները տասներկու օր երևում են Վարագա լեռան Գալիլիա կոչվող գագաթին այնպես, որ հեռավոր վայրերից ևս տեսանելի էին:
Ի հիշատակ Վարագա Ս. Խաչի երևման հրաշքի՝ Ներսես Հայրապետը տոն է սահմանում և տասներկու լուսե սյուների երևման վայրում եկեղեցի կառուցում և տոնից առաջ հնգօրյա շաբաթապահք սահմանում, որը ժողովրդական լեզվով կոչվում է «վանեցիների»:

Մասունքի հրաշագործությունների մասին բազմաթիվ հիշատակություններ են պահպանվել: Մասնավորապես, Եդեսիայում համաճարակի ժամանակ Վարագա Ս. Խաչի զորությամբ անբուժելի հիվանդությունը կասեցվել է:

Հին աշխարհում, հատկապես Հռոմեական կայսրության ժամանակաշրջանում, խաչն անարգ մահվան, անեծքի, նախատինքի և չարչարանքի գործիք էր, ակայն Հիսուս Քրիստոսի խաչելությունից հետո խաչը քրիստոնյաների համար վերածվել է փրկության, հաղթանակի և հավիտենական կյանքի նշանի։ Հայաստանյայց Եկեղեցում խաչը ոչ միայն երկրպագության առարկա է, այլ ամեն ինչ օրհնվում և սրբագործվում է խաչով:

Հայի համար խաչը դարձավ ոչ միայն Քրիստոսի ու հավատի խորհրդանիշ, այն նաև «զենք», պաշտպան։ Հայը կռվում է խաչով, կռվում է խաչի՝ Քրիստոսի համար՝ խաչով ու սրով, խաչով ու գրչով։ Հայ ժողովուրդն առաջինն ընդունեց Խաչը և հավատարիմ մնաց իր առաքելությանը: Եվ մենք էլ այսօր շարունակում ենք մեր նախնիների խաչի ճանապարհը ու կերտում հայկական խաչի ճանապարհը։
