«Հայաստանի կողմից իր խոստումների կատարումը, հատկապես՝ միջանցքի բացումը եւ դրա շուրջ բանակցությունների շարունակության ապահովումը, կայունության հաստատման միակ ուղին են։ Հիմա Փաշինյանը պետք է տեսնի, որ իրեն դրդողներն իրեն մենակ են թողել մարտի դաշտում։ Ադրբեջանից ունեցած ամեն պարտություն ցնցում է Փաշինյանի աթոռը Երեւանում։ Եթե   Փաշինյանը միջանցքը դարձնի ոչ թե ճգնաժամի պատճառ, այլ հնարավորություն, կշահեն թե՛ Հայաստանը, թե՛ ինքը։ Հակառակ դեպքում ամեն պարտությունից հետո Երեւանի հրապարակները հրաժարականի կարգախոսներով լցնող զայրացած ամբոխները մի օր կարող են հանգեցնել Փաշինյանի տապալմանը։ Փաշինյանը Իսպանիա (խոսքը հոկտեմբերի 5-ին Գրանադայում նախատեսված հանդիպման մասին է,- խմբ) պետք է գա՝ չանտեսելով այդ վտանգը»: 

Այս խոսքերը սկզբում վերագրում էին Թուրքիայի ՊՆ նախարար Յաշար Գյուլերին, հետո պարզվեց, որ սա «Հյուրրիյեթի» հոդվածագիր Սելվիի մեկնաբանությունն է:
Բայց, պատկերացրեք, սա չի փոխում խնդրի էությունը. հոդվածագիրն, ըստ էության, արտահայտում է թուրքական էլիտայի, իշխանությունների հավաքական դիրքորոշումը, որը, տվյալ դեպքում, նրանք փորձել են արտահայտել փերձագետի բերանով:

Եվ այս ամենի մեղավորը Փաշինյանն է, ով Նոյեմբերի 9-ի եռակողմ հայտարարությամբ պարտավորվել է ռուսական վերահսկողությամբ տրանսպորտային հաղորդակցություն տրամադրել Ադրբեջանին՝ Նախիջևանի հետ կապվելու համար, հետո հրաժարվել է այդ պարտավորությունից՝ առանց երաշխիքներ ստանալու:
Փաշինյանը նույնիսկ «զոհաբերեց» Արցախը՝ այսպես ասած, Զանգեզուրի միջանցքից խուսափելու համար, բայց Արցախի կործանումից հետո այդ հարցն օրակարգ մտավ նոր սրությամբ:
