Hightech.plus-ը գրում է, որ Ավստրալացի գիտնականները հաղորդել են, որ մինչ օրս հասել են արևային էներգիայի փոխակերպման ամենաբարձր արդյունավետությունը պողպատե հիմքի վրա գտնվող պերովսկիտային ֆոտովոլտային բջիջների համար: Ենթաշերտից երկաթի ներթափանցումը ֆոտոգալվանային խցիկի մեջ կանխելու համար ինդիումի անագի օքսիդի շերտ են դրել նրանց միջև։
Արեգակնային բջիջների ենթաշերտերի ավանդական նյութի՝ ապակու նկատմամբ ճկուն և էլեկտրական հաղորդիչ պողպատի առավելությունն այն է, որ այն կարող է ծառայել ինչպես ենթաշերտ, այնպես էլ ունենալ էլեկտրոդի երկակի գործառույթ: Ընդ որում, և՛ մեծ տարածքի մոնոլիտ արևային մարտկոցների դեպքում, և՛ փոքրերի դեպքում մեկ և բազմահանգույց կառուցվածքով։

Պողպատի և 80 նմ ինդիում-անագ շերտի հետ կա անագի օքսիդի էլեկտրոնների տեղափոխման շերտ, պերովսկիտ կլանիչ, Spiro-OMeTAD անցքի տրանսպորտային շերտ և մոլիբդենի եռօքսիդի բուֆերային շերտ, իսկ վերևում՝ թափանցիկ ինդիում-անագ օքսիդի էլեկտրոդն է:
Այս կառուցվածքով հավաքված առաջին նախատիպը հասել է 13,2 % փոխակերպման արդյունավետության: Նմանատիպ վահանակն առանց ինդիում-անագի միջանկյալ շերտի ունենում է ընդամենը 6 % արդյունավետություն: Այնուհետև գիտնականները որոշել են կիրառել պասիվացման մեթոդը՝ բարակ պաշտպանիչ շերտի ձևավորումը էլեմենտի աշխատանքը բարելավելու համար: Արդյունքում, նմուշը ցույց է տվել 17,1 % արդյունավետություն, որն ամենաբարձրն է պողպատե հիմքի վրա պերովսկիտային արևային բջիջների համար:
