«Արցախի անվտանգության և զարգացման ճակատի» դիրքորոշումը չի փոխվել, մինչ Արայիկ Հարությունյանի հրաժարականն էր, հիմա էլ պնդում է, որ Ակնա-Ասկերան ճանապարհն օգտագործելն անընդունելի է։ Նախկին պետնախարար, ճակատի համակարգող Ռուբեն Վարդանյանն առցանց եղանակով քաղաքացիների հարցերին պատասխանելով, նշել է, թե իրենք նախկինի պես համարում են Աղդամի ճանապարհի բացումը կարմիր գիծ։ Հարցին, թե՝ Արայիկ Հարությունյանից հետո, Արցախի նոր նախագահը համաձայնվեց Աղդամի ճանապարհի բացմանը, իսկ իրենք հանդուրժեցին, Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը նշել է. «Մենք խոսում ենք Արցախի ստատուս քվոյի պահպանման մասին, դա կարմիր գիծ է, մենք պետք է ունենաք ազատ միջանցք Հայաստանի և աշխարհի հետ կապող և այդ կարմիր գիծը խախտված է։ Երբ Ադրբեջանն անցակետ դրեց ապրիլի 23-ին, մենք հայտարարել ենք, որ դա կարմիր գիծ է, անընդունելի։ Նույն ձև այստեղ, երբ մենք հասկանում ենք, որ անցակետը և Լաչինի միջանցքը չի աշխատում և փորձում են օգտագործել Ակնա-Ասկերան ճանապարհը, դա շարունակությունն է կարմիր գծի»։ «Մենք պետք է ունենաք Հայաստանի հետ կապ առանց սահմանափակումների»,- ասել է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը։
Նրա խոսքով՝ ընդունեն, թե չընդունեն մարդիկ, միևնույն է դա կարմիր գիծ է, ուղղակի այժմ տարբեր ձևերով կարելի է պայքարել. «Մենք հասկանալով, թե ինչ է կատարվում Արցախում, որոշեցինք, որ չենք պայքարելու այլ ձևով, որ պառկենք մեքենաների տակ, դա արդեն ճակատի որոշումն է։ Կարմիր գիծ է նաև Ադրբեջանի առաջարկած անձնագրերը, դրամը փոխելը, ենթակառուցվածքները։ Այո՛, պետք է ունենանք կարմիր գծեր և դրա խափանման ժամանակ պայքարենք, ուրիշ բան, որ կա Արցախի իշխանություն, որն իրավունք ունի որոշումներ կայացնել»։
Նա նաև քննադատել է նախորդ 30 տարիների իշխանություններին, նշել, թե 1994 թվականից ի վեր մի քանի տարբերակներ են եղել սեղանին դրված, սակայն մեծամասնությունը չի ստորագրվել Ադրբեջանի կողմից։ «Ցավալի է, որ Հայասատանի իշխանությունները 30 տարվա մեջ չկարողացան գտնել այն ճանապարհը, որը թույլ կտար մեր դաշնակիցներին և մեր կապերը ստիպել, պայմանավորվել այն դրվածքով, որ մեզ ընդունելի կլիներ, բայց դա արդեն չի եղել, բայց հիմա ամենքս պետք է նայենք, թե ինչ պետք է անենք, որ ունենանք այն տարբերակը, որ առաջ գնանաք, ոչ թե նայենք հետ»,- նշել է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը։
