Մենք խորապես մտահոգված ենք Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում արագորեն վատթարացող հումանիտար իրավիճակով։ Այս մասին հայտարարել է Պետդեպարտամենտի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մեթյու Միլլերը։

«Մենք կրկնում ենք Լաչինի և Աղդամի ճանապարհների անհապաղ և միաժամանակ բացման մեր կոչը՝ ապահովելու անհրաժեշտ մարդասիրական պարագաների առաքումը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի բնակիչներին։ Մենք կոչ ենք անում ղեկավարներին, ինչպես որ պետքարտուղարն արել է իր հայտարարություններում, չձեռնարկել գործողություններ, որոնք մեծացնում են լարվածությունը կամ շեղում այդ նպատակից:

Բացի այդ, մենք մշտապես ընդգծել ենք Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում երթուղիների բացման և կողմերի միջև երկխոսության անհրաժեշտությունը։ Թեև կարևոր է, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղն ունենա վստահելի ներկայացուցիչներ այս գործընթացի համար, ինչպես նախկինում ենք ասել, մենք չենք ճանաչում Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը որպես անկախ և ինքնիշխան պետություն, և հետևաբար չենք ճանաչում, այսպես կոչված, նախագահական ընտրությունների արդյունքները, որոնք տեղի ունեցան վերջերս»,- նշել է նա։

Միլլերի խոսքով, Միացյալ Նահանգները կշարունակի խստորեն աջակցել Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ջանքերին՝ չլուծված հարցերն ուղղակի երկխոսության միջոցով լուծելու համար, և այդ պատճառով պետքարտուղար Անտոնի Բլինքենը և Կովկասի բանակցությունների գծով ավագ խորհրդական Լուի Բոնոն հետևողականորեն ներգրավված են այս գործընթացում և «մենք շարունակելու ենք մեր հետևողական մասնակցությունը»։
