Սամ Մակնայտը համաշխարհային նորաձևության լեգենդ է:Սամ Մակնայտը հանդիսանում է Vogue  ամսագրի բազմաիվ կերպարների հեղինակ:

Բացի այդ նա հանդիսանում է Chanel-ի և  Fendi-ի վարսահարդարը: Հենց Մակնայտն է արքայադուստր Դիանայի սանրվածքի հեղիանակը: Դիանայի հետ վարսահարդարը ծանոթացել է 1990 թվականին նկարահանումների ժամանակ: 

«Սովորաբար հայտնի մարդիկ դժվարությամբ են գնում փոփոխությունների իրենց մազերի ձևի և գույնի հետ կապված: Բայց Դիանայի հետ ամեն ինչ այլ էր»:

Նա հարցրեց ինձч ի՞նչ կանեիք իմ մազերի հետ, եթե ես թույլ տայի անել այն ինչ ցանկանաք: Ես առանց երկար մտածելու պատասխանեցի «Կկարճացնեի»: Ինչին նա պատասխանեց. «Արա, արա դա հենց հիմա»:

Այդպես էլ սկսվեց նրանց ընկերությունը, որը տևեց մինչև Դիանայի մահը: Այդ տարիների ընթացքում նա իր մազերը վստահում էր միայն Սեմին: Չնայած նրան, որ այդ տարիների ընթացքում իր մշտական բնակության վայրը եղել է Նյու-Յորք, Սեմը հանդիսացավ Դիանայի կերպարի ստեղծողը:

Սեմի հետ միասին նրանք ցանկանում էին ստեղծել մի կերպար, որը կհամապատասխաներ նրա տարիքին և կոչմանը: Դիանան հազիվ 30-անց էր, այդ իսկ պատճառով Սեմը ցանկանում էր մի փոքր սեքսուալություն մտցնել Դիանայի կերպարի մեջ, միաժամանակ հանելով չորությունը, որ առկա է թագավորական կերպարում:

«Նա հաճախ ամաչում էր այդ սանրվածքից, քանի որ կարծում էր, որ այն  իրեն չափից ավելի անմիջական է դարձնում: Եվ երբ նրա կողքին չէի լինում, նա հետ էր տանում մազերը և լաքապատում էր, այնուհետև միասին ծիծաղում էին այդպիսի նկարների վրա: Սակայն ամենից լավ տեսքը իր մազերը ունենում էին, երբ նա ընդհանրապես ոչինչ չէր անում»:

 «Ես մի անգամ նրան ասել էի, լավ կլիներ Դուք ինձ ընդհանրապես չկանչեիք, որ սանրեմ Ձեր մազերը, քանի որ հենց առանցն սանրվածքի նրանք շատ լավ տեսք ունեն: Այն պահի երբ դուք դուրս եք գալիս մարզասրահից, Ձեր մազերը իդեալական տեսք ունեն»:

Նա դա շատ լավ հասկանում էր, բայց խնդիրը նրանում էր, որ նա հասարակությանը պետք է ներկայանար համապատասխան ձևով: Նա պետք է արդարացներ հասարակության պատկերացումները արքայադստեր մասին»:

Արքայադուստր Դիանան կոտրեց բոլոր կարծրատիպերը իր կարճ սանրվածքով: Եվ իր կերպարով գերեց հազարավոր կանանց սրտերը: Այդ սանրվածքը դարձավ 90-ականների ամենակրկնվող սանրվածքներից մեկը:
