Հնդկաստանում 5,5 մագնիտուդ ուժգնությամբ երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Եվրոպական միջերկրածովյան սեյսմոլոգիական կենտրոնը (EMSC)։
Ցնցումները զգացվել են Քարիմգանջ քաղաքից 18 կիլոմետր հեռավորության վրա, այն գտնվում է Բանգլադեշի հետ սահմանի մոտ։ Բնակավայրում ապրում է ավելի քան 55 հազար մարդ։
