3dnews.ru-ն գրում է, որ ԱՄՆ Էներգետիկայի նախարարության Վերականգնվող էներգիայի ազգային լաբորատորիայում (NREL) ստեղծված երկկողմ արևային մարտկոցը ֆիքսում է արևի արտացոլված լույսը, երբ այն ընկնում է մարտկոցի հետևի կողմից: Այդ պերովսկիտային վահանակի հակառակ կողմն ապահովում է առջևի մասի արդյունավետության ավելի քան 90 % -ը: Այս նոր մոտեցումը կարող է ընդլայնել արևային մարտկոցների տեսական սահմաններից դուրս էներգիա արտադրելու կարողությունը:
Արևային մարտկոցների դասական տեխնոլոգիաները, որոնք օգտագործում են սիլիցիումը որպես կիսահաղորդչային նյութ, ունեն մոտ 26 % արդյունավետություն, ինչն ավելի բարձր է, քան նոր վահանակի առջևի երեսի լաբորատոր փորձարկումների արդյունքում ձեռք բերված 23 %-ը: Բայց երկկողմանի վահանակում հետևի կողմը արտադրում է լրացուցիչ քանակությամբ էլեկտրաէներգիա՝ դիմացի երեսի մոտ 91-93 % արդյունավետությամբ, ինչը մեծացնում է մարտկոցի արդյունավետությունը 20 %-ով։
Վերջին տարիներին պերովսկիտը (կալցիումի տիտանատ — CaTiO3) դարձել է արևային բջիջների զարգացման առանցքային գործոն սահմանելով արդյունավետության նոր ռեկորդներ և բացելով նոր հեռանկարներ հաջորդ սերնդի տեխնոլոգիաների համար: Տանդեմ սիլիկոն-պերովսկիտ արևային բջիջները հասել են լաբորատոր չափված ավելի քան 30 % արդյունավետության, և դրանց տեսական սահմանը շատ ավելի բարձր է, քան մաքուր սիլիցիումային բջիջներինը:
Զարգացման արագ առաջընթացը բերել է նրան, որ երկու ընկերություններ հայտարարել են հաջորդ սերնդի վահանակների առևտրային գործարկման մասին: Երկկողմանի արևային մարտկոցների արտադրությունն ավելի թանկ կլինի, քան միակողմանի մոդուլներինը, բայց ավելի շատ էներգիա արտադրելու նրանց կարողությունը կարող է ժամանակի ընթացքում դրանք ավելի ծախսարդյունավետ դարձնել:
