Նավակային մրցույթ, որ դարձավ օլիմպիական մարզաձև․ «Փաստ»
ՀԱՆՐԱՀԱՅՏ ՄՈԼՈՐՈՒԹՅՈՒՆՆԵՐ
«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է
Ակադեմիական թիավարության պատմությունը սկսվել է Անգլիայից՝ 16-րդ դարում: Այն ժամանակներում Լոնդոնում թիավարները սիրում էին կատակով մրցույթներ կազմակերպել։ Ուղևորներ և բեռներ տեղափոխելով Թեմզա գետով՝ նրանք ջանում էին ցույց տալ լավագույն արագությունն ու հմտությունը իրենց նավերը կառավարելու գործում: Նկատելով դա՝ տեղացի դերասան Թոմաս Դոգեթը 1715 թվականին որոշել է կազմակերպել բայդարկաների առաջին պաշտոնական մրցույթը։ Այդ մրցավազքը շարունակվում է մինչև այսօր՝ Միացյալ Թագավորությունում համարվելով ամենահեղինակավորներից մեկը: Անգլիայի համալսարանների ուսանողների նախաձեռնության շնորհիվ 1829 թվականին տեղի է ունեցել Օքսֆորդ-Քեմբրիջ մրցույթը, որը կոչվում էր The Boat Race («Նավակային մրցույթ»), և դա դարձել է Անգլիայի թիավարների խորհրդանիշը:
1839 թվականից անցկացվում է Հենլի ռեգատան, որը ավանդական հնգօրյա մրցույթ է Թեմզայի ջրերով Հենլի Օն-Թեմզա քաղաքի մոտ։ Արդեն 12 տարի անց այն սկսել է անցկացվել թագավորական ընտանիքի հովանու ներքո, ինչի արդյունքում էլ ստացել է ամենաբարձր կարգավիճակը և սկսել է կոչվել Հենլի թագավորական ռեգատա։ Հետագայում այդ տպավորիչ սպորտի ժողովրդականությունը, դուրս գալով Անգլիայից, սկսում է թափ հավաքել եվրոպական մայրցամաքում, որտեղ 1884-1887 թվականներին հայտնվել են գերմանական, շվեյցարական, բելգիական թիավարման ակումբներ: ԱՄՆ-ում և Կանադայում թիավարման առաջին ակումբները հայտնվել են 19-րդ դարի վերջին և 20-րդ դարի սկզբին։ Ամերիկայում աշխարհի ամենամեծ մրցույթը երկօրյա «Չարլզ ռեգատան» է, որը տեղի է ունենում ԱՄՆ-ի Մասաչուսեթս նահանգում՝ Բոստոնն ու Քեմբրիջը բաժանող գետի վրա։
1892 թվականին ստեղծվել է Թիավարության միջազգային ֆեդերացիան (FISA), որը ներկայում միավորում է թիավարության 105 տարածաշրջանային ֆեդերացիա ներ։ Թի ա վ ա րության մի ջազգ ա յ ի ն առաջնություններ սկսել են անցկացվել 1893 թվականից, երբ առաջին անգամ կայացել է Եվրոպայի առաջնությունը։ Թիավարությունը մտել է ամառային օլիմպիական խաղերի ծրագիր դրանից 7 տարի անց՝ 1900 թվականին։ 1976 թվականին Մոնրեալում կանայք նույնպես մասնակցել են այդ սպորտաձևի օլիմպիական մրցարշավներին։
