Նախագահ Զելենսկիի՝ ՄԱԿ գլխավոր քարտուղար Գուտերեշին եւ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանին դիմումից անմիջապես արձագանքել է Վաշինգտոնը։ Հիշեցնենք, որ Զելենսկին խնդրել էր Էրդողանին ապահովել ուկրաինական հացահատիկով նավերի էսկորտը իր ռազմանավերի միջոցով։

ԱՄՆ Ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդի ներկայացուցիչ Ջոն Քիրբին Սպիտակ տանը ճեպազրույցում ասել է, որ հացահատիկի գործարքից Ռուսաստանի դուրս գալուց հետո Ուկրաինայից գյուղատնտեսական արտադրանքի արտահանման «միակ տարբերակը» մնում է ցամաքային միջանցքը։ Նրա խոսքով, ցամաքային ճանապարհով ուկրաինական հացահատիկի արտահանումն ավելի քիչ արդյունավետ կլինի, քան ծովով, սակայն ԱՄՆ-ն չի դիտարկում բեռնանավերը ռազմածովային ուժերի նավերով ուղեկցելու տարբերակը։ Պատասխանելով լրագրողներից մեկի համապատասխան հարցին, Քիչբին ասել է․ «Ըստ էության, այն, ինչ դուք առաջարկում եք, այն է, որ մենք պարզապես փորձենք շրջափակում իրականացնել՝ արդյունավետ ռազմական շրջափակում Սև ծովում: Ոչ, դա այն տարբերակ չէ, որը ակտիվորեն քննարկվում է»:

Քիրբիի հայտարարությանը նախորդել էր ռուսական հրթիռային գրոհը Օդեսայի նավահանգստային ենթակառուցվածքների դեմ։ Զուգահեռաբար Մոսկվան ցամաքային հարձակողական գործողություն է ծավալել Լիման-Կուպյանսկ ուղղությամբ։

Այս հանգամանքներն անշուշտ ազդեցություն են ունեցել Վաշինգտոնի որոշման վրա։ Այդուհանդերձ, էական է նաեւ ԱՄՆ ձգտումը՝ դիմադրել կոնֆլիկտի ընդլայնմանը հատկապես ՆԱՏՕ անդամ պետություններ Լեհաստանի եւ Թուրքիայի ներգրավումով։ Վերջինիս առջեւ մեծ է գայթակղությունը ներգրավվել Ղրիմի շուրջ «խաղաղ» անցուդարձին։
