Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին հայտարարել է, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը կարող էր հինգ րոպեում վերջ տալ Ուկրաինայում պատերազմին, եթե խոսքը լիներ ուկրաինական տարածքների հանձնման մասին, սակայն Կիևը համաձայն չէ դրան։
Նա մեկնաբանել է ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հայտարարությունն այն մասին, որ «նախագահ վերընտրվելու դեպքում ինքը կարող է 24 ժամում դադարեցնել ռազմական գործողությունները»։
«Պատերազմն ավարտին հասցնելու ցանկությունը գեղեցիկ է: Բայց այս ցանկությունը պետք է հիմնված լինի իրական կյանքի փորձի վրա: Դե, կարծես, Դոնալդ Թրամփն արդեն մեկ անգամ ունեցել է այս 24 ժամը: Մենք (Ռուսաստանն ու Ուկրաինան) պատերազմի մեջ էինք, ոչ լայնածավալ, բայց մենք պատերազմի մեջ էինք և ենթադրում եմ, որ Թրամփն ուներ այդ ժամանակը (24 ժամ) իր տրամադրության տակ, բայց նա երևի այլ առաջնահերթություններ է ունեցել»:
«Եթե մենք խոսում ենք Ուկրաինայի գնով պատերազմը դադարեցնելու մասին, այլ կերպ ասած՝ ստիպելու մեզ զիջել մեր տարածքները, ապա, կարծում եմ, այս կերպ Բայդենը կարող էր այն ավարտին հասցնել նույնիսկ հինգ րոպեում: Բայց մենք չէինք համաձայնի», - ասել է Զելենսկին։
