Euronews.com-ը գրում է, որ Նիդեռլանդներում արևային կղզու նման շինությունները ապագայում կարող են սովորական դառնալ եվրոպական նոր միասնական արտոնագրի շնորհիվ:
Նիդեռլանդների լողացող ֆերմայում գտնվող ֆոտոգալվանային վահանակները հետևում են արևին, և ծաղիկի պես կլանելով բոլոր հասանելի ճառագայթները առավելագույնի են հասցնում էլեկտրաէներգիայի արտադրությունը:
Արեգակնային վահանակը, որն անվանվել է Proteus հունական ջրի աստծո պատվին, առաջիններից մեկն է, որը համատեղել է լողացող ֆոտոգալվանային վահանակների տեխնոլոգիայի հետ, որը թույլ է տալիս վահանակին հետևել արևին՝ ցերեկը շրջվելով արևելքից արևմուտք և գիշերը վերադառնալով իր սկզբնական դիրքին:
Այն փորձնական ծրագրի շրջանակներում տեղադրվել է 2020 թվականի ամռանը Ռոտերդամի մերձակայքում Նիդեռլանդների կիրառական գիտական հետազոտությունների կազմակերպության կողմից:

«Սովորաբար առավելագույն արտադրությունը տեղի է ունենում օրվա կեսին, երբ արևը գտնվում է իր ամենաբարձր դիրքում, - ասել է SolarisFloat-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Անտոնիո Դուարտեն, երբ վահանակները հետևում են արևին, էներգիայի արտադրության պիկ ժամանակահատվածը շատ ավելի երկար է դառնում»:
