Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը կարծում է, որ Եվրոպայի կենտրոնում մեծ պայթյուն է հասունանում՝ կապված Կոսովոյի չճանաչված հանրապետության շուրջ ստեղծված իրավիճակի հետ։

«Եվրոպայի կենտրոնում մեծ պայթյուն է հասունանում. հենց այնտեղ, որտեղ 1999 թվականին ՆԱՏՕ-ն ագրեսիա իրականացրեց Հարավսլավիայի դեմ՝ խախտելով Հելսինկյան եզրափակիչ ակտի և ԵԱՀԿ փաստաթղթերի բոլոր հնարավոր սկզբունքը»,- լրագրողներին ասել է Լավրովը։

Նա տագնապալի է անվանել իրավիճակը Սերբիայի և Կոսովոյի շուրջ։

Դիվանագետի խոսքով՝ արևմտյան երկրները «բոլորին տոտալ հպատակեցնելու» քաղաքական գիծ են սահմանել։ Սակայն Կոսովոյի պարագայում անհրաժեշտ է աշխարհաքաղաքական լուծում, որը կապահովի «հավասար, անբաժանելի անվտանգություն բոլոր պետությունների համար», նշել է Լավրովը։

Այս որոշումը, ըստ ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ղեկավարի, պետք է նշանակի, որ ոչ մի ռազմական բլոկ, այդ թվում՝ Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքը, իրավունք չունի հավակնել գերիշխանության եվրոպական տարածաշրջանում։

Մայիսի 26-ի առավոտյան Կոսովոյի անվտանգության ուժերը ժամանել են չորս մունիցիպալիտետների քաղաքային վարչակազմերի շենքեր և փորձել գրավել դրանք։ Այս պահին նրանց դեմ են եղել տեղի բնակիչները: Սերբիայի նախագահ Ալեքսանդր Վուչիչը Կոսովոյում իրավիճակի սրման պատճառով սերբական բանակը հասցրել է առավելագույն պատրաստվածության։Մայիսի 28-ին Սերբիայի պաշտպանության նախարար Միլոշ Վուչևիչը հայտարարել է, որ Կոսովոյում լարվածությունը հասել է գագաթնակետին և կարող է վերածվել զինված հակամարտության։Մայիսի 29-ին հաղորդվել է, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի ուժերը Կոսովոյում և Մետոհիայում արգելափակել են շրջանի հյուսիսում գտնվող քաղաքապետարանների մուտքերը: Մի քանի հարյուր մարդ հավաքվել է նահանգի հյուսիսում գտնվող տեղական ինքնակառավարման մարմինների շենքերի մոտ՝ պահանջելով դուրս բերել Կոսովոյի ոստիկանությունը և հետ կանչել նորընտիր ալբանացի քաղաքապետերին։
