Հասարակական-քաղաքական գործիչ, Արցախի Հանրապետության նախկին պետնախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը Ստեփանակերտից առցանց հարցազրույց է տվել Արգենտինայի առաջատար լրատվամիջոցների մի խումբ ներկայացուցիչների՝ խոսելով Արցախում տիրող իրավիճակի և Արցախի նկատմամբ Ադրբեջանի իրական նպատակների, շարունակվող շրջափակման ու ճնշումների մասին:
«Շուրջ 5 ամիս է՝ 120 հազար մարդ Արցախում ապրում է շրջափակման պայմաններում: Ադրբեջանը ձգտում է էթնիկ զտման ենթարկել Արցախի բնակչությանը՝ ստիպելով մեզ լքել մեր հայրենիքը, որտեղ մենք ապրել ենք հազարամյակներ շարունակ: Եվ չնայած բոլոր սպառնալիքներին և դժվարություններին՝ մենք մտադիր չենք լքել մեր տունը և հպարտ ենք, որ ապրում ենք այստեղ, ուր ամենուր տեսանելի են հայության սերունդների ժառանգությունը, հայկականության արմատները: Մենք պայքարում ենք մեր հողի վրա ապրելու մեր իրավունքի համար, և ի տարբերություն Ադրբեջանի՝ մենք որևէ մեկի վրա հարձակվելու մտադրություն չունենք»,-ասել է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը:
Պատասխանելով Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղության պայմանագրի կնքնման հնարավորության մասին հարցին, Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը նշել է. «Ես չեմ հավատում խաղաղության համաձայնագրին, եթե այն միայն թղթի վրա է լինելու և չի արտացոլելու տեղում առկա իրավիճակը: Ինչպես կարելի է իրական և երկարաժամկետ խաղաղության համաձայնագիր պատկերացնել մի իրավիճակում, երբ մի կողմը կարծում է, որ հաղթողի իրավունքով պետք է բոլոր հնարավոր միջոցներով զիջումներ կորզել մյուս կողմից, մի իրավիճակում, երբ Ադրբեջանը շարունակում է խախտել 2020թ. նոյեմբերի 9-ի եռակողմ համաձայնությունը, մի իրավիճակում, երբ Ադրբեջանը արհամարհում է միջազգային բոլոր կառույցների և դատարանների որոշումները: Եվ ամենակարևորը, Արցախի մասին ոչ մի որոշում չի կարող կայացվել առանց Արցախի ժողովրդի մասնակցության, առանց հաշվի առնելու Արցախի ժողովրդի որոշումը»։
Անդրադառնալով հարցին, թե ինչ կարող է Սփյուռքն անել այս պահին Արցախին օգնելու համար, նա նշել է, որ արցախցիների համար կարևոր է զգալ, որ իրենք միայնակ չեն. «Իմ կոչն է Սփյուռքին՝ չլինել անտարբեր: Արցախում մարդիկ շատ ուժեղ են, բայց նրանք կարիք ունեն զգալու բոլորիս աջակցությունը»:
