Հայաստանի, Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի միջև հարաբերությունների ամբողջական կարգավորումը նոր հնարավորություններ կստեղծի կովկասյան տարածաշրջանի համար, ասել է Թուրքիայի պաշտպանության նախարարը։ TRT World-ի համար հոդվածում թուրք պաշտոնյան հույս է հայտնել, որ «պատմական թշնամանքների վերացումը ճանապարհ կհարթի տևական բարեկամության և համագործակցության համար»:
«Սակայն մենք պետք է նկատի ունենանք ստեղծված նուրբ իրավիճակը։ Չնայած հակամարտությունը ներկայում սառեցված է, ռազմական գործողությունների մեջ նորից ընկնելու վտանգը մեծանում է, որքան երկար ժամանակ է պահանջվում համաձայնագիրը (նկատի ունի հայ-ադրբեջանական կարգավորման համաձայնագիրը-Tert.am) կնքելու համար», - ասել է նա:
Աքարի խոսքով՝ երկու «խնդիր» (չակերտները՝ Tert.am) Անկարային և Երևանին խանգարել է նորմալ հարաբերություններ զարգացնել Խորհրդային Միությունից Հայաստանի անկախացումից ի վեր։ Դրանցից մեկը, ըստ նրա, առաջին Արցախյան պատերազմն էր, մյուսը՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ տարբեր տեսակետները:
Աքարի խոսքով՝ Թուրքիան հավատարիմ է մնում այն համոզմանը, որ թուրք և հայ ժողովուրդները, որոնք «հանդուրժողականության և խաղաղության մեջ ապրելու երկար պատմություն ունեն» (չակերտները՝ Tert.am), կարող են հարաբերություններ հաստատել բարեկամության և փոխշահավետ համագործակցության վրա՝ չնայած մարտահրավերներին։
«Եթե տարածաշրջանի և դրանից դուրս գտնվող երկրները որոշեն ներդրումներ կատարել խաղաղության համար, ապա քաղաքական և տնտեսական շահաբաժինները մեծ կլինեն ամբողջ տարածաշրջանի համար: Թուրքիան կցանկանար, որպեսզի երրորդ երկրները, ներառյալ Արևմուտքում իր դաշնակիցները, կամ օգնեին այս նոր ըմբռնմանը, կամ գոնե զգուշանային պատմական վեճը քաղաքականացնելու և ռազմական գործողությունները հավերժացնելու ջանքերից», - ասել նա:
