Պետքարտուղարության փոխխոսնակ Վեդանտ Պատելը ճեպազրույցում անդրադարձել է ԱՄՆ-ի միջնորդությամբ ընթացող հայ-ադրբեջանական բանակցություններին, որոնցում երկրները ներկայացնում են արտգործնախարարներ Արարատ Միրզոյանն ու Ջեյհուն Բայրամովը:
«Ես ձեզ համար թարմացումներ չունեմ: Մենք հավատարիմ ենք մնում այս գործընթացին և Հարավային Կովկասում խաղաղ ապագայի խթանմանը: Մենք կարծում ենք, որ ուղղակի երկխոսությունը առանցքային է խնդիրների լուծման համար, բայց ես պարզապես չեմ պատրաստվում առաջ ընկել հանդիպումներից»,-ասել է Պատելը՝ հրաժարվելով որևէ մանրամասն ներկայացնել։
Նա հավելել է, որ փակ դռների հետևում ընթացող բանակցություններին ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից մասնակցում են մի շարք պաշտոնյաներ, որոնք խորապես ներգրավված են գործընթացում:
Ինչպես ավելի վաղ գրել էր Tert.am-ը, Վաշինգտոնում կայացել են Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի ԱԳ ղեկավարների միջև բանակցությունները՝ ԱՄՆ-ի միջնորդությամբ «Հարաբերությունների կարգավորման շուրջ համաձայնագիր» փաստաթղթի շուրջ: ԱՄՆ-ի բարձրաստիճան դիվանագետները մանրամասներ են հաղորդել բանակցություններից: Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի արտգործնախարարներն այս շաբաթվա ընթացքում կունենան հաջորդաբար մի շարք հանդիպումներ, լրագրողների հետ հեռախոսային ճեպազրույցի ընթացքում հայտնել ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարության բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաները: Քննարկումները կողմերի միջև ընթացել են կառուցողական, հայտնել է պետքարտուղարության Կովկասի բանակցությունների գծով ավագ խորհրդական Լուիս Բոնոն:
Պետքարտուղաության ներկայացուցչի խոսքերով՝ համապարփակ համաձայնագրի շուրջ ընթացող բանակցություններում կողմերի միջև քննարկվող հարցերից մեկն է վերաբերմունքը էթնիկ փոքրամասնությունների նկատմամբ երկու երկրներում, որն անդրադառնում է էթնիկ փոքրամասնությունների իրավուքներին ու անվտանգությանը:
Լաչինի միջանցքի մասին խոսելիս՝ ամերիկյան կողմը վերահաստատեց, որ Վաշինգտոնը վերջին մի քանի ամիսների ընթացքում շատ պարզ մատնանշել է Լաչինի միջանցքով առևտրային, մարդասիրական ազատ տեղաշարժի ապահովման կարևորությունը և շարունակում է ներգրավված մնալ այդ քննարկումներում՝ ակնկալելով, որ շուտով տեղաշարժը միջանցքով կվերականգնվի:
ԱՄՆ փոխպետքարտուղարի տեղակալ Էրիկա Օլսոնը նաև հույս է հայտնել, որ կողմերը այս շաբաթվա ընթացքում «անմիջական և անկեղծ» քննարկումներ կունենան՝ խնդրի կարգավորմանը հասնելու համար: Հանձնառու ենք աջակցել այդ գործընթացին և պատիվ ունենք հյուրընկալելու այստեղ կարևոր այս երկխոսությունը, որը կարող է շարունակվել, ընդգծել է փոխպետքարտուղարի տեղակալը՝ կարևորելով բանակցությունների շարունակական բնույթը:
