Հայաստանի ծանրամարտի հավաքականի անդամ, Եվրոպայի նորընծա փոխչեմպիոնի Անդրանիկ Կարապետյանի հաջորդ կարևորագույն նպատակը Օլիմպիական խաղերն են:
«Յուրաքանչյուր մարզիկ նախընտրում է չեմպիոն դառնալ: Այս պահին երկրորդ տեղը գոհացնող է, քանի որ ծնկի վնասվածք ունեի և այն բավականին լուրջ էր: Աշխարհի առաջնությունում լավ հանդես չեկա և բոլորը կարծեցին, որ Անդրանիկ Կարապետյանը պետք է հեռանա ծանրամարտից: Բայց հաշվի չեն առնում, որ վնասվածքներն են խանգարում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց Կարապետյանը:
Հայազգի ծանրորդը շեշտեց, որ հրում վարժության երկրորդ մոտեցումը բացառիկ էր, քանի որ տրիբունաներից լսել էր որդու ձայնը և մոտեցումը նվիրել նրան:
«Հիմա վնասվածք չկա և կա արդյունք: Իմ հաջորդ նպատակը Օլիմպիական խաղերն են»,-շեշտեց նա:
Հայաստանի ծանրամարտի տղամարդկանց հավաքականի անդամ Անդրանիկ Կարապետյանը դարձավ Երևանում ընթացող Եվրոպայի առաջնության արծաթե մեդալակիր և ռեկորդակիր: Կարապետյանը պոկում վարժությունում հաջորդաբար բարձրացրեց 167, 173, 178 կգ: Վերջին մոտեցմամբ Կարապետյանը սահմանեց Եվրոպայի ռեկորդ (178 կգ): Այս վարժությունում Կարապետյանը դարձավ փոքր ոսկե մեդալակիր: Հրում վարժությունում հայ ծանրորդը առաջին մոտեցմամբ գլխավերևում պահեց 190 կգ, այնուհետ` 196 կգ, սակայն չբարձրացրեց 206 կգ: Երկամարտի 374 կգ արդյունքով Կարապետյանը երկրորդն է Եվրոպայում:
