Վախճանվել է Մաշտոցյան Մատենադարանի գլխավոր ավանդապահ, Ձեռագրագիտության բաժնի վարիչ, պատմական գիտությունների դոկտոր, Գևորգյան հոգևոր ճեմարանի և Երևանի պետական համալսարանի դասախոս Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանը։ Այս մասին NEWS.am-ը տեղեկանում է Մատենադարանի տնօրինությունից:

Հաղորդագրության մեջ նաեւ ասվում է. «Մեր ցավակցությունն ենք հայտնում Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանի ընտանիքի անդամներին, Մատենադարանի աշխատակիցներին, մտերիմներին։

Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանը ծնվել է 1951 թ. հունվարի 9-ին Շամշադինի շրջանի Ներքին Կարմիրաղբյուր գյուղում, 1968 թ. ավարտել է նույն գյուղի միջնակարգ դպրոցը: 1968-1973 թթ. սովորել է ԵՊՀ պատմության ֆակուլտետի հնագիտության, աղբյուրագիտության և ազգագրության բաժնում, որն ավարտել է պատմաբան-աղբյուրագետի մասնագիտությամբ:

1974 թ. աշխատել է Մաշտոցյան Մատենադարանում, 1978 թ.՝ ավագ գիտաշխատող և գլխավոր ավանդապահ, 1992 թ.-ից՝ Ձեռագրագիտության բաժնի վարիչ և գլխավոր ավանդապահ: 1995-1998 թթ. զբաղեցրել է Հայաստանի Ազգային գրադարանի տնօրենի պաշտոնը: 2016 թ. ստացել է Պատմական գիտությունների դոկտորի աստիճան:

Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանը մեծ հեղինակություն էր հայ ձեռագրագիտության ասպարեզում, հայերեն ձեռագիր մատյանի բազմահմուտ և  քաջագիտակ մասնագետ։ Բացառիկ է նրա դերը՝ «Մայր ցուցակ հայերէն ձեռագրաց Մաշտոցի անուան Մատենադարանի»  բազմահատորյակի կազմման և խմբագրման գործում։

Շուրջ 200 հոդվածների, ուսումնասիրությունների և մենագրությունների հեղինակ է: Զգալի է նաև նրա մանկավարժական վաստակը. տարիներ ի վեր դասավանդել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանում և Գևորգյան ճեմարանում, ինչպես նաև պատրաստել է ձեռագրագետներ Մաշտոցյան Մատենադարանում:

Միջազգային բազմաթիվ գիտաժողովների մասնակցած լինելու և այլալեզու իր հրապարակումների շնորհիվ Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանը մեծ համբավ ունի նաև միջազգային հայագիտության մեջ։ Դրա վկայություններից մեկն այն է, որ Մխիթարյան միաբանության հրավերով տարիներ շարունակ պարբերական այցելություններով կատարել է Սուրբ Ղազարի մատենադարանի ձեռագրական նյութի մատենագիտական-ձեռագրագիտական մշակում:

Մեծ է նաև նրա վաստակը արտերկրում հայկական մշակույթը ներկայացնելու գործում՝ ձեռագրական ցուցահանդեսների կազմակերպման ասպարեզում: Վերջինիս վկայականներից է 2008 թ. Ֆրանսիայի կառավարության հրամանագրով «Գրականության և արվեստների շքանշանով» պարգևատրելը՝ 2007 թ.-ին Ֆրանսիայում Հայաստանի տարվա շրջանակներում Մատենադարանի մասնակցությամբ կայացած ցուցահանդեսների  համար:

2022 թ. մշակույթի ոլորտում ունեցած նշանակալի ավանդի, երկարամյա աշխատանքային գործունեության համար և թանգարանների միջազգային օրվա կապակցությամբ ՀՀ ԿԳՄՍ նախարարության կողմից Գևորգ Տեր-Վարդանյանը պարգևատրվել է ոսկե մեդալով:

Յիշատակն արդարոյն օրհնութեամբ եղիցի։

Հոգեհանգիստը տեղի կունենա մարտի 30-ին Կոնդի Սուրբ Հովհաննես Մկրտիչ եկեղեցում, ժամը 18։00-20։00։
