ԱՄՆ-ը չի բացառում «Իսլամական պետություն» ծայրահեղական կազմակերպության դեմ ռազմական գործողությունները Լիբիայում: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, դա Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Ջոշուա Էռնեստը հաստատել Է լրագրողների համար անցկացված ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ:

«Ես, բնականաբար, սեղանից չԷի վերցնի ԻՊ-ի դեմ Լիբիայում լրացուցիչ ռազմական գործողությունների տարբերակը»,-ասել Է նա: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ Էռնեստը հիշեցրել Է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը ունի ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարում կոալիցիայի գծով գործընկերներ, այդ թվում երկրներ, որոնք «ռեսուրսներ ունեն Լիբիայում եւ ծանոթ են տեղի իրադրությանը»: Նա հասկանալ Է տվել, որ Վաշինգտոնը մտադիր Է հենվել այդ գործընկերների վրա:

Ավելի վաղ Al Arabiya հեռուստաալիքը հաղորդել Է, որ Լիբիայի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատը (մշտական խորհրդարանը) եռօրյա սուգ Է հայտարարել վերջին տարիներին երկրում իրականացված խոշորագույն ահաբեկչական գործողության զոհերի հիշատակին, որը տեղի Է ունեցել հունարի 7-ին Տրիպոլիից 160 կիլոմետր դեպի արեւելք գտնվող Զլիթեն քաղաքում: Ահաբեկչական գործողությունն իրականացրել Է մահապարտը: Գրոհի զոհ Է դարձել 74 մարդ, շուրջ 200-ը տուժել են: Ահաբեկչական գործողության պատասխանատվությունն ստանձնել Է «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման տեղական բջիջը:&nbsp ; 

Հունվարի 7-ի երեկոյան Լիբիայի Ռաս Լանուֆի ուղեմուտքի վերահսկիչ անցակետերից մեկում եւս մի մահապարտ պայթեցրել Է ականապատված արտաճանապարհային ավտոմոբիլ: Զոհվել Է յոթ մարդ, ներառյալ մեկամյա մի երեխա: Եվս 11 հոգի  վիրավորվել, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
