66-ամյա Քեյթլին Ջենները հարցազրույց է տվել The Advocate ամսագրին և նկարահանվել է պարբերականի շապիկի համար:
Ջեններն անկեղծորեն պատմել է, թե ինչպես է ինքն ընդունել սեռափոխվելու որոշումը: Քեյթլինը նաև խոսել է իր մտահոգությունների մասին և բացահայտել իր արտաքինի գաղտնիքը:
«Այդ ամենը, անշուշտ, անցնում է ձեր գլխով: Դա բնական է: Դուք հեռանում եք ձեր կերպարից: Ես տղամարդ էի, մարզիկ, գերաստղ: Իսկ հետո ինձ դասեցի «թույլ սեռի» շարքին (ես, իհարկե, կանանց թույլ չեմ համարում): Ու թեև ես զգում էի, որ ճիշտ եմ վարվում, և ինձ բոլորն այդպիսին ընդունում են, միևնույն է՝ վախենում էի ինչ-որ կարևոր բան կորցնել իմ կյանքում: Ամենագլխավորն իմ երեխաներն են: Ես չէի ուզում նրանց անհարմար վիճակի մեջ դնել»,- նշում է Քեյթլինը:
«Կին լինելը շատ ավելին է, քան սանրվածքն ու դիմահարդարումը: Ես փորձում եմ սովորել: Ինձ խորհուրդ տվեցին կարդալ Քեյթլին Մորանի «Ինչպես կին լինել» գիրքը: Այն շատ սրամիտ և ծիծաղելի է գրված: Կարդալով գիրքը՝ ես հասկացա, թե որքան շատ է իմ փորձը տարբերվում նորմալ կնոջ փորձից: Երկրորդ գլուխը դաշտանի մասին էր: Լավ, դա ես չեմ հասկանա: Բայց այնտեղ այնքան բա կա, որ ես պետք է իմանամ այն մասին, թե ինչպես կին լինել, ինչպես յուրովի լինել:Ուստի քանի որ ես տղամարդ եմ ծնվել, իմ կյանքում շատ բան արդեն կորած է»,- ասում է Ջենները:
Նա նաև պատմել է, թե իրեն ինչպես է հաջողվում շատ լավ տեսք ունենալ միջոցառումների ժամանակ. «Քիմը (Քիմ Քարդաշյանը) ինձ ասում է. «Եթե դու դուրս ես գալիս հանրության առաջ, պետք է ընտիր տեսք ունենա»: Դու չես որոշում՝ պապարացիները երբ կլուսանկարեն, նրանք պարզապես քեզ լուսանկարում են, երբ դու առանց դիմահարդարման ես, վատ հագնված ես և այլն: Քիմը դրանից հրաշալի է գլուխ հանում: Ինչ-որ տեղ երևալուց առաջ պետք է այնքան հրաշալի տեսք ունենալ, որքան հնարավոր է»:
