ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ 10-րդ դեսպան Քրիստինա Քվինը, որը երկու շաբաթ առաջ է Երևան ժամանել, ԱՄՆ դեսպանատան հրապարակած կարճ տեսանյութում անդրադարձել է իր ծննդավայր հայաշատ Կալիֆորնիային, պատմել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից տեղահանված ընտանիքների հետ իր առաջին հանդիպման մասին և ներկայացրել է այն վայրերը, որ հասցրել է այցելել Երևանում՝ ծանոթանալու Հայաստանի պատմությանն ու մշակույթին։
Տեսանյութում դեսպանը խոսել է նաև Հարավային Կովկասում տևական խաղաղության հաստատման ջանքերին աջակցելու, հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերություններն ամրապնդելու, Հայաստանի պայծառ ու բարեկեցիկ ապագայի կերտմանը նպաստելու իր պատրաստակամության մասին։
«Դեռ մանուկ հասակում տեղեկացա հայ ժողովրդի պատմության ցավալի էջերի, մասնավորապես` Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին, և Երևան ժամանելուց հետո անմիջապես այցելեցի Ծիծեռնակաբերդ՝ հարգանքի տուրք մատուցելու զոհերի հիշատակին։ Ծանոթ եմ Հայաստանի բազմադարյա հարուստ պատմությանը, մշակութային ժառանգությանը և հիացած եմ հայ ժողովրդի անհավատալի տոկունությամբ։ Րոպե առաջ ցանկանում եմ ամբողջովին բացահայտել այս երկիրն ու ճանաչել հայ մարդուն։
Գիտեմ, որ վերջին տարիները մարտահրավերներով լի են եղել, արդեն առիթ եմ ունեցել անձամբ լսել Հայաստանում գտնվող տեղահանված անձանցից իրենց դժվարությունների մասին։ Խոստանում եմ անել հնարավորը Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև հակամարտության տևական լուծման և հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունների կարգավորման համար։
Հայաստանն արժանի է ապրել խաղաղ ու անվտանգ պայմաններում և հետամուտ լինել իր ընտրած քաղաքական ու տնտեսական ուղեգծին։ Հայ-ամերիկյան հարաբերություններն ամուր են ու կուռ և ես ջանք ու եռանդ չեմ խնայի ամրապնդելու մեր կապերը և օգնելու Հայաստանին կերտել պայծառ ու բարեկեցիկ ապագա», - ասել է ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանը։
