Ենթադրվում է, որ ԱՄՆ ռազմածովային ուժերի USS Hershel Williams նավը, որը մարդասիրական օգնություն է տեղափոխում, երեքշաբթի առավոտյան կկանգնի Թուրքիայի հարավում գտնվող Մերսին նավահանգստում: Այս մասին ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտնել է Թուրքիայի ԱԳՆ-ի աղբյուրը։
«ԱՄՆ Միջազգային զարգացման գործակալության (USAID) մարդասիրական օգնության և աջակցության USS Hershel Williams նավը ակնկալվում է, որ Մերսին նավահանգիստ կհասնի փետրվարի 28-ի առավոտյան», – ասվում է հաղորդագրությունում:
Նշվում է, որ բեռները կժամանեն այն պատճառով, որ ավելի վաղ Թուրքիան դիմել է այլ երկրների՝ երկրաշարժերի հետեւանքների վերացման հարցում օգնություն ցուցաբերելու խնդրանքով։
«ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից ուղարկված օգնությունը կընդունվի նավահանգստում գտնվող մեր հաստատությունների կողմից և կտրամադրվի երկրաշարժից տուժածներին՝ նրանց համապատասխան կարիքներին», – հավելել են ԱԳՆ-ում։
Թուրքիայի հարավ-արևելքում գտնվող Քահրամանմարաշ նահանգում փետրվարի 6-ին 9 ժամ ընդմիջումով 7,7 և 7,6 մագնիտուդ ուժգնությամբ երկրաշարժեր են տեղի ունեցել։ Ստորգետնյա ցնցումները, որին հաջորդել են հազարավոր հետցնցումներ, զգացվել են հանրապետության 11 նահանգներում և հարակից երկրներում, որոնցից ամենաշատը տուժել է Սիրիան։ Թուրքիայում մահացածների թիվը գերազանցել է 44 հազարը:
