Թուրքիայի ներքին գործերի նախարար Սուլեյման Սոյլուն երկրի որոշ դաշնակիցների մեղադրել է երկիրն ապակայունացնելու փորձի և Ստամբուլի Իսթիքլյալ փողոցում անցյալ տարի տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչության մասին տեղեկությունները թաքցնելու մեջ:
 
«Որոշ երկրներ, որոնք հայտնի են որպես «բարեկամներ և դաշնակիցներ», որդեգրել են «Ինչ ուզում է լինի, միայն թե Թուրքիայում կայունություն չլինի» դիրքորոշումը։ Մի՞թե մենք չգիտենք, որ Իսթիքլյալ փողոցում տեղի ունեցած հարձակման հետևում կանգնած էին նրանք, ում հետ դուք ձեռք ձեռքի էիք տված: Մենք չգիտե՞նք, որ դուք վազում էիք մեր անվտանգության կազմակերպության, մեր հետախուզական ստորաբաժանումների շուրջը՝ մտածելով. «Հետաքրքիր է, նա դա մե՞ր զենքի օգնությամբ է արել։ Մենք գիտենք, թե ովքեր են նրանք, ովքեր տարիներ շարունակ մեզ համար ընկերներ ու դաշնակիցներ էին թվում և փորձում էին խայթել մեզ օձի պես»,-հայտարարել է Սոյլուն՝ նկատի ունենալով ԱՄՆ-ին, գրում է Yeni Şafak թերթը։
Նրա խոսքով՝ եթե Թուրքիան ձախողեր, ապա նրան «կվերաբերվեին որպես գաղութային ջոկատի»։
 
«Այսօր նրանք տարբեր հնարքներ են բանեցնում, որովհետև Թուրքիան հաջողակ է։ Նրանք մեծ հույսեր էին կապում այս ձմռան հետ․․․ Եթե այդքան շատ բան գիտեիք, ինչո՞ւ չեք տեղեկացրել Թուրքիային Իսթիքլյալ փողոցում ՔԱԿ/PYD-ի (Թուրքիայում արգելված Քրդստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցությունը) հարձակման մասին։ Որովհետև դուք նույնպես կանգնած էիք հուլիսի 15-ի իրադարձությունների հետևում (2016-ի այդ օրը Թուրքիայում, պաշտոնական Անկարայի տվյալներով, հեղաշրջման փորձ է տեղի ունեցել)։ Մենք միջազգային գործողության հետ ենք բախվել»,-ասել է Թուրքիայի ներքին գործերի նախարարը։
Ավելի վաղ Ստամբուլում Շվեդիայի, Նիդեռլանդների, Մեծ Բրիտանիայի, Ֆրանսիայի, Շվեյցարիայի և Գերմանիայի գլխավոր հյուպատոսությունները հայտարարել էին, որ դադարեցրել են այցելուներ ընդունել քաղաքի կենտրոնում ահաբեկչությունների սպառնալիքի պատճառով: Թուրքիայի ներքին գործերի նախարար Սուլեյման Սոյլուն օտարերկրյա պետությունների այս որոշումն անվանել է Անկարայի դեմ հոգեբանական պատերազմ։
