Սաուդյան Արաբիան կտրուկ նվազեցրել է հում նավթի գները եվրոպացի գնորդների համար: Միաժամանակ Սաուդյան Արաբիան մեկ բարելի դիմաց  0,6 դոլարով բարձրացրել է գինը Ասիայի համար եւ չի փոփոխել ԱՄՆ-ի համար, հայտնում է Wall Street Journal-ը:

Սաուդյան Արաբիայի Saudi Aramco պետական նավթային ընկերությունը տեղեկացրել է փետրվարյան գնումների համար Հյուսիս-արեւմտյան Եվրոպային վաճառվող թեթեւ նավթի գինը մեկ բարելի դիմաց  0,6 դոլարով, իսկ միջերկրածովյան գնորդների համար  0,2 դոլարով նվազեցնելու մասին, տեղեկացնում է Փրայմը: 

Թերթի կարծիքով նման քայլը կարող է խարխլել Իրանի դիրքերը, որն այս տարի պատժամիջոցների ակնկալվող վերացումից հետ պիտի ավելացնի վառելիքի արտահանումը: Իրանի նավթագործները դա ընկալել են որպես Իրանի հետ մրցակցելու փորձ. «Սաուդյանները նախապատրաստվում են Իրանի վերադարձին», - հայտնել է Իրանի նավթի նախարարության նավթային շուկայի նախկին գլխավոր վերլուծաբան Մուհամմադ Սադեղ Մեմարիանը: 

Սաուդյան Արաբիայի այս միջոցը հաջորդել է Իրանի հետ դիվանագիտական հակամարտությանը: Սաուդյան Արաբիան խզեց Իրանի հետ դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունները այն բանից հետո, երբ ցուցարարները հարձակվեցին Թեհրանում թագավորության դեսպանատան եւ Մեշհեդում հյուպատոսարանի վրա: Բողոքի ակցիայի պատճառը դարձել է Սաուդյան Արաբիայում շիա հայտնի քարոզիչ Նիմր ան-Նիմրի մահապատիժը:
