ԱՄՆ զինուժը ներգրավված չի եղել Իրանի դեմ հարվածներին։ Ինչպես հաղորդում է Reuters-ը, Պենտագոնի խոսնակ Պատրիկ Ռայդերը նման հայտարարություն է արել իրանական Սպահանում ռազմական գործարանի վրա անօդաչու թռչող սարքի հարձակման լույսի ներքո։
Reuters-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ Ռայդերը հրաժարվել է այլ մեկնաբանություններից։
Եվս մի քանի ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաներ, որոնց անունները չեն նշվում, գործակալությանը հայտնել են, որ Վաշինգտոնը առնչություն չունի Սպահանում տեղի ունեցածին։
Կիրակի IRNA գործակալությունը հաղորդել է, որ ուժեղ պայթյուն է որոտացել Իրանի կենտրոնական մասում գտնվող Սպահան քաղաքում։ Ավելի ուշ հանրապետության պաշտպանության նախարարությունը հայտարարել է, որ շաբաթ անօդաչու սարքերի միջոցով անհաջող հարձակում է իրականացվել գերատեսչության կենտրոններից մեկի վրա։ Սարքերից մեկը խոցվել է, մյուս երկուսն ընկել են պաշտպանական թակարդներն ու պայթել։ Ոչ ոք չի տուժել, պատճառվել է նյութական փոքր վնաս։ Հայտարարության մեջ չի նշվում, թե, Թեհրանի կարծիքով, ով է ներգրավված եղել հարձակմանը:
