Հունվարի 5-ին Արարատյան Հայրապետական թեմի առաջնորդանիս Ս. Սարգիս եկեղեցում Ս. Ծնունդյան ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագը մատուցվեց առաջնորդական փոխանորդ գերաշնորհ Տ. Նավասարդ արքեպիկոպոս Կճոյանի հանդիսապետությամբ: Ս. Պատարագին ներկա էին ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը, ՀՀ վարչապետ Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը, Երևանի քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանը, բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներ: 

Պատարագիչը Տ. Շահե քահանա Հայրապետյանն էր: Հավարտ Ս. Պատարագի Սրբազան հայրը Ս. Ծննդյան և Հայտնության Ավետիսը փոխանցեց հավատավոր ժողովրդին` ողջունելով. «Քրիստոս Ծնաւ և Յայտնեցաւ: Օրհնեալ է Յայտնութինն Քրիստոսի»:

Ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագից հետո ԱՀԹ առաջնորդարանում Տ. Նավասարդ Սրբազանի նախագահությամբ կատարվեց Տնօրհնեքի կարգ: Առաջնորդարանի հանդիասասրահում հավատացյալները առիթ ունեցան շնորհավորելու ՀՀ Նախագահին ու թեմի առաջնորդական փոխանորդին: 
Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցին հունվարի 6-ին նշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի հրաշափառ Ծնունդն ու Հայտնությունը: Ս. Ծննդյան տոնը սկսվում է հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյան, քանի որ ըստ եկեղեցական կարգի օրը փոխվում է երեկոյան ժամերգությունից հետո: Հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյան եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է ճրագալույցի Ս. Պատարագ: Ճրագալույց բառը նշանակում է ճրագ (մոմ) լուցանել, վառել: Այդ օրը եկեղեցում վառված ճրագները մարդիկ տուն են տանում: Վառվող ճրագները խորհրդանշում են բեթղեհեմյան աստղի լույսը, որն առաջնորդեց մոգերին դեպի Հիսուս Մանուկ: Հավատացյալները Քրիստոս Մանուկի Ս. Ծննդյան լույսն էլ եկեղեցուց տուն են տանում` հավատալով, որ աստվածային լույսը, եկեղեցու օրհնությունը այդ կերպ հասցնում են իրենց օջախներ: 

Հունվարի 5-ի երեկոյից մարդիկ միմյանց ողջունում են «Քրիստոս ծնաւ եւ յայտնեցաւ: Օրհնեալ է յայտնութիւնն Քրիստոսի: Ձեզ եւ մեզ մեծ Աւետիս»: Վաղը` հունվարի 6-ին, Ս. Պատարագ կմատուցվի բոլոր եկեղեցիներում: Առաջնորդանիստ Ս. Սարգիս եկեղեցում Ս. Պատարագը կմատուցվի Արարատյան Հայրապետակայն թեմի առաջնորդական փոխանորդ գերաշնորհ Տ. Նավասարդ արքեպիսկոպոս Կճոյանը: 
Ս. Պատարագի ավարտին կկատարվի Ջնօրհնեքի կարգ, որը խորհրդանշում է Հիսուս Քրիստոսի` Հորդանան գետում Ս. Հովհաննես Մկրտչի ձեռքով մկրտվելը և աշխարհին հայտնվելը:
