Թուրքիայում Ստամբուլի քաղաքապետ Իքրամ Իմամօղլին դատապարտվել է երկու տարվա եւ յոթ ամսվա ազատազրկման՝ ընտրական հանձնաժողովի անդամներին «վիրավորելու համար», ինչը սպառնալիք է առաջացրել այդ երկրի գործող նախագահ Թայիփ Էրդողանի դեմ պոտենցիալ ցանկացած թեկնածուի համար։ Bloomberg լրատվական գործակալությունը գրում է, որ վճիռը վիճարկվել է վերադաս ատյան եւ եթե հանկարծ վճիռը չբեկանվի, ապա Իմամօղլուի քաղաքական կարիերան կարող է հայտնվել հարվածի տակ, մինչդեռ Իմամօղլուն թուրքական քաղաքական իրականությունում այն քաղաքական գործիչն է, ով կարող է իրական մարտահրավեր նետել Էրդողանի իշխանությանը։ Ամերիկյան պարբերականը նկատում է, որ մինչեւ վերադաս ատյանի վճռի կայացումը Իմամօղլին կշարունակի մնալ Ստամբուլի քաղաքապետ։
Այս ամենի ֆոնին Թուրքիայում նորից տնտեսական ցնցումներ կարող են սկսվել։ Ներդրողները դատարանի վճռի հրապարակումից հետո սկսել են վաճառել Թուրքիայում ունեցած ակտիվները, ինչը բերել է Borsa Istanbul 100 բազային ինդեքսի 3,6 տոկոսանոց անկման։ Էժանացել է նաեւ թուրքական լիրան։ Դոլարի հանդեպ թուրքական արժույթի գնանկումը կազմել է 0,2 տոկոս։ Վերլուծաբանները նշում են, որ Էրդողանի համար, իհարկե, տնտեսական ցնցումը ցանկալի չէ, սակայն նախընտրական այս խառնակ շրջանում կարեւոր է, որ քաղաքական առումով իրեն ինքնավստահ զգա։ Ու քանի որ Թուրքիայում հայտնի խոսք կա, թե «ով տիրում է Ստամբուլին, տիրում է ողջ Թուրքիային», Էրդողանը կուզենա, որ Իմամօղլին չեզոքացվի քաղաքական իմաստով, եւ ինքը փորձի իր թեկնածուին դարձնել Ստամբուլի քաղաքապետ։
Մյուս կողմից, թուրք քաղաքագետները նշում են, որ Իմամօղլուի դատապարտումն Էրդողանի՝ թուրքական քաղաքական ընդդիմության վրա բանեցված ճնշումներից կարելի է համարել։ Իրականությունն այն է, որ, ըստ թուրքական հասարակության մեջ առկա մտայնությունների, թեեւ Էրդողանը հանրային վստահության կրեդիտի լուրջ դեֆիցիտ ունի, սակայն դեռ շարունակում է իր ձեռքում լծակներ պահպանել, որոնցով կարողանում է դեռ ճնշումներ գործադրել ընդդիմության վրա, քաղաքական ինչ-ինչ նպատակների հասնելու համար։ Բացի այդ, այս ճնշումները, որքան մոտենան ընտրությունները, որոնք տեղի են ունենալու հաջորդ տարվա հունիսին, այնքան ավելի խստացվելու են։
Հիշեցնենք, որ մոտ հինգ տարվա բանտարկության էր դատապարտվել թուրքական ընդդիմադիր քեմալական կամ Ժողովրդա-Հանրապետական կուսակցության առանցքային գործիչներից Ջանան Քաֆթանչիօղլուն՝ Էրդողանին վիրավորելու համար։
