Միացյալ Նահանգների կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆի գլխավորությամբ շուրջ երեք տասնյակ կոնգրեսականներ նամակ են հղել ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենին՝ կոչ անելով վճռական քայլեր ձեռնարկել՝ ապահովելու Արցախի հայ բնակչության անվտանգությունը։ Այս մասին հայտնում է  Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախումբը։

Նամակում նշվում է, որ դեկտեմբերի 12-ից Ադրբեջանը փակ է պահում Արցախը Հայաստանին ու արտաքին աշխարհին կապող միակ ճանապարհը՝ Լաչինի միջանցքը՝ խաթարելով 120 հազար հայերի ազատ տեղաշարժը և թույլ չտալով պարենի, դեղորայքի և այլ առաջին անհրաժեշտության ապրանքների տեղափոխումը։

«Եթե նման իրադրությունը շարունակվի, անխուսափելի կդառնա մարդասիրական աղետը՝ պոտենցիալ ողբերգական հետևանքներով։  Ավելին, Ադրբեջանի գործողությունները ուղղակիորեն խախտում են 2020 թվականի նոյեմբերի 9-ի հրադադարի մասին եռակողմ հայտարարությունը, որում ներառված էր պարտավորություն՝ ապահովելու քաղաքացիների, մեքենաների ու բեռնատարների անվտանգ տեղաշարժը երկու ուղղությամբ Լաչինի միջանցք անունով հայտնի ճանապարհով»,- նշել են կոնգրեսականները։

Նրանք ընդգծել են, որ չնայած կոնգրեսականների կողմից բազմիցս հնչեցված կոչերի՝ Արցախի ժողովրդին տրամադրել այդքան անհրաժեշտ ԱՄՆ մարդասիրական օգնություն, ամերիկյան վարչակազմը մինչ օրս պատշաճ օգնություն չի ցուցաբերել, ինչը «վարչակազմի կողմից հիմա վճռական գործողությունների դիմելը դարձնում է ավելի հրատապ, քան երբևէ»։  

«Կոչ ենք անում  վարչակազմին օգտագործել հնարավոր ամեն գործիք՝ ապահովելու Արցախի ժողովրդի անվտանգությունը՝ հիմա և ապագայում, այդ թվում և դադարեցնել ֆինանսական աջակցությունն Ադրբեջանին և կիրառել պատժամիջոցներ։ Մենք չենք կարող թույլ տալ, որ շարունակվի Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիայի և սպառնալիքների քաղաքականությունը»,- եզրափակել են ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականները։
