ՀՀ ԱԺ նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանը դեկտեմբերի 16-ին ընդունել է Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան, մեր երկրում դիվանագիտական առաքելությունն ավարտող Լին Թրեյսիին:
Արդյունավետ համագործակցությունը փաստող մտքերի փոխանակումից հետո Ալեն Սիմոնյանը նշել է, որ թեեւ դեսպանի դիվանագիտական առաքելությունը Հայաստանի համար ծանրագույն ժամանակաշրջանում էր, այնուամենայնիվ, պաշտոնավարման ընթացքում մեր երկրների միջեւ հարաբերությունները հասել են ավելի բարձր մակարդակի: Նա հավելել է, որ հայ-ամերիկյան համագործակցության խորհրդարանական ձեւաչափը նոր նշաձող է սահմանել: Ալեն Սիմոնյանն ընդգծել է դեսպանի կատարած ծավալուն աշխատանքի կարեւորությունը դիվանագիտական եւ հանրային հարթակներում:
