Հունիսի 30-ին պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանն ընդունել է ԱՄՆ Գլենդեյլի քաղաքապետ Արա Նաջարյանին և նրա տիկնոջը՝ Պալմիրա Նաջարյանին:  Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունը:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում երկուստեք նշվել է համագործակցության համար լավ նախադրյալների առկայությունը և այս ուղղությամբ աշխատելու պատրաստակամությունը: Արա Նաջարյանը պատմել է Գլենդեյլի հայկական համայնքի մասին նշելով, որ Գլենդեյլի հայերը հարգված մասնագետներ են` փաստաբաններ, բժիշկներ, գործարարներ և այլն: Հայազգի քաղաքապետը նախարարին վստահեցրել է, որ ամուր են պահում կապը մայր հայրենիքի հետ, հատկապես  ուշադրությամբ հետևում են պաշտպանական ոլորտին ու զինված ուժերին առնչվող իրադարձություններին:

Նույն օրը նախարար Օհանյանն ընդունել է նաև «Զինվորական բժիշկների հայկական ասոցիացիա» հասարակական կազմակերպության հրավերով Երևան ժամանած ամերիկահայ բարերարներ Վարդգես և Մերի Նաջարյաններին: Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով բարերարներին հայրենանվեր գործունեություն իրականացնելու համար, պաշտպանական գերատեսչության ղեկավարը Վարդգես Նաջարյանին պարգևատրել է «Դրաստամատ Կանայան» գերատեսչական մեդալով: Նաջարյան ընտանիքի անդամները փաստել են, որ թեև ապրում են Հայաստանից հեռու, սակայն հոգու և մտքի թելերով միշտ կապված են հայրենիքի հետ:
