Ռուսական RT-ի հատուկ թղթակից Անդրեյ Ռուդենկոն անդրադարձել է Խերսոնից ռուսական զորքերի՝ դեպի Դնեպրի ձախ ափ դուրսբերմանն ու Դնեպրի ձախ ափին վերախմբավորմանը։ «Թողնելով Խերսոնը՝ մենք կաշկանդել ենք թշնամուն այդ ուղղությամբ։ Բացատրեմ, թե ինչու։ Երբ մենք հետ քաշեցինք մեր ուժերն ու մեր միջոցները, մեր միջեւ Դնեպր գետն է կանգնած լինելու, եւ կամուրջները պայթեցված են։ Այս իրավիճակում նրանց կողմից գրոհի ձեռնարկումն անիրատեսական է։ Խերսոնից էլ այդ խմբավորումը հեռանալ չի կարող։
Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի ընթացքում Դնեպրի գետանցումը մեր զորքերին արժեցավ 1,2 միլիոն կարմիր բանակայինի կյանք։ Ներկայիս իրավիճակում, հաշվի առնելով անօդաչու թռչող սարքերի, ժամանակակից հրթիռային համազարկային կրակի համակարգերի եւ հրետանային այլ միջոցների առկայությունը, եթե հակառակորդը փորձի հարձակվել, կկորցնի ոչ պակաս զորք, քան մենք Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի ժամանակ։ Եվ, ընդհակառակը, եթե մեր զորախումբը մնար Խերսոնում, մենք պարզապես մարդկային կորուստներ կունենային։ Թիկունքում լինելու էր գետը, որտեղ կամուրջներ չէին լինելու, գետանցումն էլ հակառակորդի մշտական կրակի տակ էր լինելու։ Կորուստները կլինեին ահռելի։ Այդ պատճառով էլ տղաների համար որոշում կայացվեց՝ դուրս բերել հարվածի գոտուց, որը միակ ճիշտ տակտիկական ուղղությունն էր։
Գետից այն կողմ մնալու են հակառակորդի բավականին մեծ ուժեր, որոնք կաշկանդված են լինելու։ Նրանք ստիպված են լինելու, անգործության մատնված, պահել զորախմբերը, մինչդեռ նրանց կարելի կլիներ կիրառել այլ ուղղություններով։ Իսկ մենք Խերսոնի մարտերում կոփված մեր տղաներին՝ մեր հպարտությունը հանդիսացող ռազմադեսանտային ուժերին, կարող ենք տեղափոխել Դոնեցկի ուղղություն, որտեղ ներկայումս ընթանում են հարձակողական գործողություններ, որպեսզի ի վերջո ավարտին հասցնենք ԴԺՀ ազատագրումն ու շարունակենք հակառակորդին ռուսական հողերից դուրսմղման գործողությունը։ Իհարկե, դեռ երկար ժամանակ հնարավոր կլիներ պահել Խերսոնը, սակայն դա մեզ կարժենար մեծաթիվ զոհեր եւ մեծ ռեսուրսներ, այդ թվում՝ նաեւ զոհեր խաղաղ բնակչության շրջանում։ Սակայն այդկերպ վարվելն անիմաստ կլիներ։ Վստահ եմ, մենք դեռ վերադառնալու ենք Խերսոն, սակայն արդեն՝ մյուս կողմից»,- ասված է Ռուդենկոյի գրառման մեջ։
