ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինկենը, երեկ Վաշինգտոնում ողջունելով ՀՀ և Ադրեբջանի ԱԳ նախարարներ Արարատ Միրզոյանին և Ջեյհուն Բայրամովին, հայտարարել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները հավատարիմ է Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղ բանակցություններին:

«Ուղիղ երկխոսությունը իսկապես կայուն խաղաղության լավագույն միջոցն է, և մենք շատ ուրախ ենք դրան աջակցելու համար»,- ասել է պետքարտուղարը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ Միացյալ Նահանգները վճռականորեն աջակցում է ինչպես Հայաստանի, այնպես էլ Ադրբեջանի ինքնիշխանությանը և տարածքային անկախությանը, և 1991 թվականի անկախության վերականգնումը կենսականորեն կարևոր պահ էր երկու երկրների իրավունքների երաշխավորման համար, իրավունքներ, որոնց, ըստ Բլինկենի, ԱՄՆ-ն մեծապես աջակցում է։

«Կարծում եմ, որ արդարացի է նաև ասել, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ավելի քան 30 տարվա հակամարտությունը պատճառել է հսկայական մարդկային, նյութական կորուստներ՝ կորսված կյանքեր, խորը սպիներ: Բայց այն, ինչ մենք հիմա տեսնում ենք, իրական և խիզախ քայլեր են երկու երկրների կողմից՝ անցյալը հետևում թողնելու և կայուն խաղաղություն հաստատելու ուղղությամբ աշխատելու համար: Երկու երկրներն էլ աշխատում են այդ նպատակով և, ի վերջո, Հարավային Կովկասի ավելի պայծառ ապագայի համար:

Եվ ես պարզապես կասեմ, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները, որպես Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի բարեկամ, հանձնառու է անել ամեն ինչ՝ աջակցելու ձեզ այս ջանքերում, քայլել ձեզ հետ տևական խաղաղության ճանապարհով, օգնել ամեն կերպ, ինչով կարող ենք: Սա, կարծում եմ, ավելի լավ, պայծառ ապագայի խոստումն է։

Եվ ես ողջունում եմ և՛ ձեզ, և՛ ձեր կառավարություններին այն խիզախության և վճռականության համար, որ դուք ցուցաբերում եք այդ նպատակակետին հասնելու համար», - ասել է Բլինկենը:
